

Solution Engineer for mission-critical software, New Zealand

You will be part of our Defence Services organisation and work between our Wellington CBD office and the customer site in Upper Hutt. You will join a small team of customer-focused technical experts within a global, market-leading organisation, working to implement our C2 software to support critical decision-making on the battlefield.
Systematic employees are well trained and will be involved with modern, highly sensitive equipment and configurations and will be expected to perform hands on development, testing, integration and maintenance to support our customer environments.
Your key responsibilities
- Managing software installation, configuration and support in the customer’s C4I environments for use in tests, training, exercises and actual operations
- Managing set up and testing of integrations between C41 software products and coalition systems, sensors, effectors and communication systems
- Designing, implementing and supporting technical solutions
- Ensuring alignment, effective communication and coordination between stakeholders
- Developing and delivering technical training to customers, administrators and users
- Providing level 1 and 2 support to customers on C41 software products, installation, integration with other software and equipment, and to end-users
- Keeping up to date with C4 software product roadmaps to maximise value for customers
- Providing support to ensure projects are delivered within the agreed scope and on time.
The skills and experience we are looking for
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Experience with IT infrastructure and platforms such as Windows, Linux, Android-based operating systems, Active Directory, database management systems, XMPP chat
- Experience in software development technologies e.g. Java, C#, JavaScript
- Experience in deploying software applications into cloud-based and on-premises environments
- Experience with containerised workloads (Docker, Kubernetes and Rancher)
- Experienced in using Agile tools such as Jira to enhance delivery transparency and team co-ordination
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet
- Experience with version control systems like Git
- Knowledge of administration and operation of military command information systems, tactical radio devices and radio networks, and ITIL (desirable).

Practical information
Travel may be expected - approx.10 days a year of domestic travel and a visit to our Headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark as part of your onboarding.
