Software Architect – Kubernetes and microservices

About the job
At our office in Aarhus you will participate in the early development of a brand-new product based on Kubernetes and related Cloud technologies. The product is part of the Systematic SitaWare Suite, which is a breakthrough in battle control software that offers clarity, simplicity and high performance that addresses real world command and control challenges at the frontline.


You will contribute to a world class product as well as gain a great knowledge within a large set of technologies related to Kubernetes and microservice-based solutions. The program currently consists of app. 30 employees divided into scrum teams that are assisted with architects, testers, test managers and a User Experience Designer. This is an opportunity for you to set the technical direction and develop the way we launch this new product. The developers in the teams span seniority from 2-20+ years with a high level of technical competence – enabling you to work with the best, and produce high quality solutions.

Responsibility and tasks
Your overall responsibility will be to drive the development of the architecture in the projects including trying out new technologies in close cooperation with the program architect and a SW architect for a similar project. Furthermore, you will be a part of the cooperation between architects across different programs in Systematic, with the aim to learn and inspire to keep improving both yourself and the solutions.


Your daily tasks will vary and consists of:

  • Drive the technical direction
  • Take the solution-oriented responsibility for the project architecture in close cooperation with the overall architecture
  • Spiking of architectural prototypes – including some high-level coding
  • Technical sparring with developers in the project
  • Contribute to estimation
  • Secure continuous improvements in abilities (security, scalability, performance, and maintainability)
  • Participate in co-operation and mutual sparring across the different programs in Systematic


Minimum qualifications

  • You hold a master’s or a bachelor’s degree within computer science or similar
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a SW lead developer, feature lead or similar
  • You have solid knowledge of microservice architecture in a Kubernetes set-up
  • You have good knowledge of microservices
  • You understand the classical disciplines of SW architecture
  • You are curious and hungry to learn more about new technologies including trying them out in the practical world
  • You are a strong communicator who can explain things with simplicity
  • You are fluent in English


Preferred qualifications

  • You have previous experience as a SW architect
  • You have previous experience as a Java developer
  • You have experience with the Spring Framework
  • You have experience with/knowledge of Angular, Kafka, Casandra and ElasticSearch
  • You have knowledge about Microsoft Azure
  • You have experience with SW solutions handling a large data through-put and large amount of data
  • You are fluent in both Danish and English
