Solution Architect for world-leading command and control software

Would you like to play a key role as a Solution Architect in Systematic, working with world-leading command and control software? Are you looking for a role where you can apply your technical leadership skills, and your forward-leaning mindset? Then take a closer look at this opportunity in our Defence organisation…

Join Systematic Defence Services, UK
Systematic is a rapidly growing and innovative software company with defence customers in more than 50 countries worldwide. Our mission is to develop software products that assist users in their tactical decision-making in critical situations. Our C4I software suite, SitaWare, is an interoperable digital command and control information system that delivers situational awareness on all levels of command. We are proud to say that the SitaWare suite is the most widely used C4I suite worldwide.

As a Solution Architect, you will be part of the Defence Services organisation and will join a small, highly capable UK-based team based in Farnborough, Hampshire, working closely with a large team of international colleagues across our other offices around the world. The Defence Services organisation focuses on the delivery of technical services, systems integration, training, deployment support and wider services to our customers.

Play a key role in our solution architecture
As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of projects, involving implementation of our software products into our customers’ organisations. Your main focus will be to provide technical leadership and operational guidance to ensure optimum use of the software products, while working closely with project managers, product development teams and the end customer to document, develop and refine technical solutions.

You will:
•    Support project managers by participating in customer meetings to align strategies and determine business and technical requirements that will be used in developing solutions using Systematic’s defence software products
•    Create and maintain solution architecture assets, content and artefacts that clearly communicate solution designs
•    Advise military customers on best practice to deploy and use our software products
•    Support pre-sales work, including project scoping, effort estimating and proposal writing
•    Provide hands-on support on the installation of software products within customers’ organisations

You should expect both domestic and international travel to customer sites, including regular visits to our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark.

Experienced Solution Architect with strong leadership skills
You already have several years of experience as a Solution Architect, and hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or similar.

To be successful in the role, you will need strong technical leadership skills, and know how to coach and motivate, guide and influence your stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.

In addition, we are also looking for:
•    Strong technical presentation and communication skills enabling you to provide clear communication to customers and stakeholders on complex technical matters
•    Experience in deploying software applications into cloud-based and on-premises environments
•    Experience in software development technologies e.g. Java, C#, JavaScript
•    Experience in installing and managing Microsoft Windows Server technologies e.g. AD, SQL Server
•    Practical Scrum experience is a must

It will be a major advantage if you have knowledge or experience of working in the defence environment.

Your leadership style is confident and forward-leaning, and you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-energy environment. You are an engaging team player with a positive and flexible mindset and are willing to learn and grow.
