Project Manager for Defence Services, UK

Are you ready to make a real impact? In joining our team, you will have a unique opportunity to work directly with military customers. Your efforts will translate into delivering vital capabilities to end-users who depend on us for mission-critical solutions. If you are looking for more than just a job, but an opportunity to shape the future and make a meaningful impact, then this role is tailor-made for you.

Join Systematic – join Defence Services, Western Europe constellation
Systematic is a global software company with more than 1,100 employees, headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark. We deliver world-leading command-and-control (C2) applications for managing complex defence and security operations. Our C4ISR software solutions are in service with more than 50 nations worldwide, where they are operationally proven.

You will join our Defence Services organisation and report to the Program Manager for Defence Services for Western Europe. You will be based at our office in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, and collaborate with our Defence Services project teams in Denmark and other countries.

Shape the future and make a real and meaningful impact
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering Defence Services projects for customers across the Western Europe constellation, including the UK. You will oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects, manage project teams and coordinate with various stakeholders while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Your main tasks include:
-    leading and managing a portfolio of multiple concurrent projects from inception to closure, ensuring that projects are delivered within scope, time and budget while meeting quality standards
-    engaging directly with Defence customers, both in the UK and internationally
-    monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and proactively address issues as they arise
-    preparing and delivering regular project status reports to key stakeholders.
-    leading and line managing a small team of dedicated technical professionals, fostering their growth and development
-    supporting and collaborating with the sales teams by providing work and cost estimates for potential new projects and by contributing to proposal development.

The role entails domestic and occasional international travel to customer sites as well as regular visits to our company headquarters in Aarhus.

We operate a hybrid working policy which allows for flexibility, with some time spent working in the office and some at home.

Do you have a passion for customer-facing project management, and do you have a track record of successfully handling IT projects? Then this is the role for you.
To succeed in the role, you have 3-5 years as a Project Manager, preferably combined with a proven track record of successfully managing IT projects. Previously, you may have managed projects in the UK defence sector and/or have experience with managing software implementation projects in complex environments.

While prior experience with line management is preferred, what truly sets you apart is your willingness to shoulder responsibility, and not to just lead but also to inspire and coach while growing and developing the team.

What we are also looking for:
-    A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a numerate discipline
-    Project management certification such as PMI or similar. Alternatively, relevant accreditations or equivalent hands-on expertise.

As a Project Manager, you:
-    engage confidently with your customers, senior management and your team to inspire confidence and enthusiasm
-    demonstrate trust, integrity and a strong focus on achieving results within budget, on schedule and with high quality
-    take a proactive approach, setting high standards for yourself and your team, and continually striving for improvement
-    show self-awareness by recognising your strengths and limitations and actively seeking opportunities for personal and team development.

As a Systematic employee at our UK office, you must have a UK work permit and meet the requirements for UK security checks.
