On-site Solution Engineer, Defence Services
Bring your IT engineering skills to the front line by deploying and implementing our market-leading software solutions worldwide. In this customer-facing role, you will tackle diverse technical challenges, deliver end-to-end solutions and make a real impact. The position also involves extensive international travel.
Make a difference in this newly established engineering role
As an On-site Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, configuring and rolling out technical solutions directly at customer locations. You will ensure that systems are fully operational, deliver technical training to users and administrators, provide on-site troubleshooting and support and act as the link between the customer and internal technical teams.
Your key tasks will include:
- travelling to customer sites to deploy software and systems
- installing, integrating and testing systems in real environments
- running technical training and workshops for users and administrators
- troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on site
- supporting Solution Architects in adapting and refining deployments
The role includes direct customer interaction and approx. 60–100 travel days a year, depending on project needs.
Deliver mission-critical software solutions worldwide
You will be part of our Defence Services organisation, which ensures that users of the SitaWare Suite receive the best possible support to maximise the value of our products across more than 50 countries. You will join our dynamic and growing Defence Services team in Copenhagen, reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager for the Nordic constellation. You will be based at our office in the heart of Copenhagen, but after your onboarding period, you can expect extensive business travel while collaborating closely with project teams, colleagues, customers and stakeholders across our global constellations. You can read more about the SitaWare Suite here.
Customer-focused engineer with broad technical toolbox
With strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on mindset, you take ownership and enjoy supporting customers directly.
We are looking for:
- a solid technical toolbox, with expertise in IT infrastructure, software/system testing and software deployment
- a technical education and several years of relevant experience from a similar role
- a background in system integration, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills that allow you to adapt quickly and effectively on site.
You will work with technologies such as Windows Enterprise & Server, Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu), SQL and MS SQL Server, networking (IP, TCP, UDP, multicast, routing, firewall), Active Directory, scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and Java enterprise applications and microservices – but we don’t expect you to be an expert in all areas. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Significant international travel and direct customer interaction are expected in this role, so travel should be a natural part of your working life, and you should be comfortable working closely with Defence customers and stakeholders worldwide.
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
