Enterprise Architect for central role in Systematics IT strategy
Can you bring architectural clarity to a technology landscape that evolved at speed and now needs to scale with intent? As Enterprise Architect in Group IT Strategy, you will help build the architectural foundation that lets a lean, expert team make better decisions — while the organisation keeps moving
Group IT (GRIT) is the internal IT function at Systematic, serving all business units with the identity, infrastructure, enterprise systems, integrations, and governance that make Systematic function as one company. As Enterprise Architect in Group IT Strategy, you will be central to one of the more demanding architectural challenges in a scaling organisation: building a clear, honest picture of our internal technology landscape so that a lean team can make better decisions.
You will report to the Director of Group IT Strategy and work alongside an existing Enterprise Architect who brings deep expertise in organisational architecture, stakeholder facilitation, and process design. Your profile complements that partnership, where you bring technical depth across infrastructure, applications, and integrations, and together you cover the full architectural span from technical foundations to organisational implications.
You will contribute directly to shaping the IT strategy that guides Systematic's internal technology direction. Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
- Maintain a living, decision-relevant view of our internal application landscape, infrastructure, integrations, and data flows — and communicate risk and technical debt in language that reaches beyond IT
- Co-develop a technology roadmap grounded in current state, honest about gaps, and realistic about what we can actually execute
- Translate regulatory requirements — including NIS2, ISO 27001, and GDPR — into concrete architectural requirements, working alongside security and compliance from the start
- Provide architectural input into how AI components and agentic systems are introduced, within an established governance structure spanning security, compliance, and business units
- Lead architecture reviews as a quality function — engaging stakeholders across business units and translating their needs into cross-organisational architectural decisions with real influence on direction, not just documentation
Joining the team
The most valuable attribute you can bring to the job is a pragmatic and evolutionary approach — a realistic view of what can change, and when. The team is lean, and while you will help shape direction, you will also be expected to do the work yourself. You will be both strategic thinker and hands-on executor. If you are motivated by the craft of enterprise architecture itself — not by where it might lead on an organisational chart — you will fit right in here.
The majority of the team is based in Aarhus. If you are located in Copenhagen, we are open to discussing a hybrid arrangement, but you should expect regular presence in Aarhus.
Your qualifications
You bring both technical depth and the ability to engage people who are not architects. You know how to present trade-offs without losing the room, and how to operate in an organisation where influence matters more than authority. Additionally, we expect that you have:
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field
- Seven or more years of experience working with enterprise-scale technology landscapes across multiple domains
- Solid experience with infrastructure, cloud architecture, application integration, and data flows — ideally built up through hands-on work before moving into a cross-functional role
- Proven ability to translate regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, ISO 27001, and GDPR into technical requirements
- Working knowledge of TOGAF, NIST, or similar frameworks — and the judgement to know when not to apply them
- Excellent English language skills – (Danish language skills are advantageous)
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
