Sales Engineer in Defence, Germany

Systematic is a rapidly growing, innovative software house with clients in more than 50 countries. Our mission is to develop IT products that assist users in their tactical decision-making in critical situations. The Defence division supplies international military clients with C4I software and solutions for military interoperability.


Our Cologne office is looking for candidates who can fulfil challenging roles within our Defence IT domain. We offer the opportunity to work with highly qualified and dedicated colleagues in an exciting and dynamic environment.


The role involves:

  • Supporting our military clients worldwide, with a special focus on Central Europe.
  • Demonstrating our products during sales activities as a member of the sales team.
  • Supporting our sales team in pre-sales activities.
  • Conducting user and administrator training for our C4I products for military users.
  • Providing military domain expertise for our product development.
  • Supporting our clients on-site during training, studies or projects.
  • Supporting our service team during installation and configuration of the products for the operational system environment.
  • Reporting to the local Vice President of Business Development C-EUR as well as the global Lead Sales Support Engineer of the defence sales team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in managing military command processes with staff at the level of battalion command or higher.
  • Experience in the operation/administration/use of military command information systems.
  • Completed a technical course of study or comparable IT training.
  • A keen interest in modern technologies.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and providing training before large audiences.
  • A proven ability to work in virtual teams with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A willingness to travel extensively (approx. 50% of the time).
  • German native speaker and fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Will be able to fulfil the requirements for security clearance at the NATO SECRET level.
