The Systematic Defence Marketing & Communications team needs you
As the focus on Defence throughout the world has been on the rise, the Systematic Defence Business unit has experienced similar growth. Therefore, we are on the lookout for a new Communications Manager for the Systematic Defence Communications team, based out of Cologne, Germany who will support us in creating communication for German speaking markets.

 

You will join of 6 talented colleagues working across Europe, whose purpose is to promote Systematic as the thought leader and key supplier of the best Command-and-Control software in the market. You can learn more about the products via the following link. 
Your audience will be to an international defence audience, and you will be working across all of Systematic’s communication platforms. 
Besides being a vital part of the Defence MarCom team, you will also work closely with Group MarCom consisting of 25+ colleagues who, on a daily basis, create awareness about Systematic and our high-quality products that simplify critical decision-making across public and private sectors. 

 

The Defence MarCom team works internationally across our 11 locations, and currently has colleagues in Aarhus, DK and Farnborough, UK, with your future manager located in the UK. 

 

A broad communication role, with Defence at its core!
As Communications Manager for our defence business unit, you will work with a variety of communications tasks ranging from press releases, thought leadership pieces, news and case stories, product launches, photo and video shoots, marketing campaigns, and events – all in relation to our Defence business. 

 

You will have a broad interface across the organisation, and be responsible for finding, creating, and sharing stories from the world of Defence in close collaboration with product management, business development, and Systematic Group. In an exciting and growing organisation, your daily tasks will involve:

  • Positioning Systematic and our SitaWare suite in Central Europe through communication initiatives
  • Supporting the development of Systematic’s overall communication strategy for the defence business with a focus on Central Europe  
  • Creating content for external media networks and Systematic channels   e.g. Linkedin, X & YouTube
  • Engaging with internal and external sources and stakeholders to find the next great story about Systematic 
  • Transforming relevant international defence stories into German content
  • Driving the communication efforts around tradeshows and events in cooperation with our international offices and managers

 

You can expect up to 30+ days of travel nationally and internationally per year to support the sales organisation.
Your daily work will be conducted from our Cologne office. We offer the opportunity to have three days a week in the office with the opportunity to work from home, the remainder of the week.


A communication specialist with a focus on a specialised audience 
We expect that our new colleague has an educational background within journalism or communications/marketing.

 

Furthermore, we would like to see the following:

  • at least 5+ years’ experience holding a role within sales- or market communication or marketing
  • Experience within the defence domain would be a clear additional advantage
  • Experience in developing content for a wide range of formats from blogs to adverts
  • Professional proficiency, written and oral, in in German and English

 

As a person, you see yourself as an independent profile that have the ability to drive projects from start to finish. Furthermore, you have excellent stakeholder management skills and can navigate across all levels of an organization and thrive with doing so.
