Our C4I software solutions are in service in more than 50 countries worldwide, with our software being operationally proven.
Our goal is to always deliver efficient and robust implementation that ensures optimum use of our product. Based at our office in Canberra you will join and work closely with the local team of specialists and report to the Project Manager for Australia in Defence Services.
 
The Project Manager’s wingman
As a Solution Architect, you will be working with our development team to provide end-to-end technical solutions across several areas. It will be your responsibility to design solutions that meet the customer’s need while ensuring our technical team is able to implement the proposed solution. The role is very hands-on, and also includes integration and deployment work.
 
You will: 
•    Have responsibility for Systematic’s part of the technical solution while supporting the customer’s team in designing the overall solution
•    Help implement and deliver our command and control system to the customer
•    Advise our customer in best practice for designing and deploying C4I systems
•    Participate in customer meetings to align strategies and help determine the business and technical requirements that will be used in developing solutions or solution alternatives 
•    Serve as a hands-on Solution Architect and leverage expertise in architecting and designing large-scale systems
•    Participate in delivering pre-sales and post-sales support to a variety of customers and stakeholders 
•    Participate in writing the technical part of proposals and providing estimates for the technical solutions.
 
Our customer is spread across Australia, so you should expect some business travel.
 
Customer-facing with broad IT technical expertise
You are experienced within software engineering, and you have broad IT technical expertise and a sound knowledge of solution design and implementation. To succeed in this role, you will need to draw on your strong technical leadership and communication skills, enabling you to motivate, guide and influence stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.
You know how to meet and successfully manage stakeholder expectations while working in an agile and dynamic environment with deadlines, budgets and resources. It is vital that you enjoy a customer-facing role, and you are strong at building organisational relationships and networking.
 
In addition, we are also looking for:
•    A candidate with a relevant technical degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level
•    Hands-on experience and experience from own former development activities with technologies such as Java, C# and .NET 
•    Practical Scrum experience is a must
•    An engaging team player who is resilient, responsible and well-organised  
•    A commercial and business-oriented mindset combined with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities within a sales process.
•    A Solution Architect who is able to design and depict concepts and solutions using rich, graphical methods
 
It will be an advantage if you have military knowledge or experience, but it is not a requirement.

We work with security-classified projects and therefore, as a Systematic employee, you must hold or be able to obtain security clearance. To obtain a security clearance you must be an Australian Citizen and have 10 years discoverable history.  Applicants will also be required to undergo a police check.
