Security Engineer  

 

 

  • This is a key technical role within our Operations Team.
  • You will join a leading international IT solution company that genuinely cares and values its people.
  • The position is full-time – Canberra-based.

 

We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our Canberra team managing security compliance. Reporting to our Project Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with contractual and legislative requirements and providing technical advice and support across various areas including technical safety, facilities and security. 

 

Your key Responsibilities 

  • Maintain DISP accreditation status through effective management and document security management system. 
  • Lead and manage security by adhering to contractual controls, DISP accreditation, and policies. 
  • Provide advice and lead internally and externally on security activities including ICT and physical security. 
  • Conduct security audits and facilitate external audits. 
  • Manage organisational personnel security clearances with AGSVA. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for security systems and processes. 
  • Conduct sensitive security-related investigations when required. 
  • Manage export requirements ensuring coverage and compliance with relevant laws. 
  • Participate in incident response activities during security events. 
     

The skills and experience we are looking for

We prefer if you bring tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering or security discipline and a minimum of five years of experience working in ICT and cyber-related roles. Having qualifications or certificates in security governance and architecture frameworks (CISM, CISSP, ISO27001, PSP) is highly valued, as well as knowledge of Commonwealth Protective Security Policy and Defence Security Principles Frameworks. 

 

Furthermore, it is necessary that you have an understanding of enterprise engineering, architecture, cloud computing and containerisation and experience in conducting security assurance reviews to ensure that security is implemented in project work. 

 

Lastly, being our new Security Engineer you must have the ability to communicate and interact effectively with various stakeholders. 

 

NV1 Security Clearance

To work within our Defence business unit you must hold (or be able to obtain) and maintain a Defence NV1 security clearance. Please check your eligibility and read further on the clearance process at https://www.defence.gov.au/security/clearances.
