Sales Solution Engineer in Defence

Tactical communication systems and highly satisfied customers

As a Sales Solution Engineer in Defence, you will play a key role in supporting our sales processes and ensuring that our specialized software solutions are put into professional use for military purposes. You will play a key role within the Defence organisation, and deliver a premium service to our customers in the Asia-Pacific constellation.

Our C4I software solution, SitaWare, is an interoperable digital command and control information system that delivers applications for the higher army command structure, as well as for mounted and unmounted soldiers operating at the tactical level of operations. We are proud to say that the SitaWare Suite is the most widely used C4I suite worldwide.

 

As a Sales Solution Engineer, your tasks include:

  • Driving the adoption of Systematic products with military customers worldwide, with special focus on Australia and the Asia-Pacific region
  • Demonstrating Systematic’s solutions as part of the sales team, including articulating their business value and helping the customer understand the possibilities
  • Supporting the sales team in pre-sales activities, including conferences, exercises, bids, and presentations Assuming responsibility for technical sales to customers within their sphere of influence
  • Contributing your military domain expertise to the development of our products
  • Collaborating with customers on site for testing and evaluating solutions during exercises, studies or projects
  • Exercising your ability to map customer requirements to technical specification

 

The successful candidate will be a senior member of the sales team, who is a self-starter, and who displays considerable initiative and creativity.

 

Proactive and customer-oriented

You have a professional tertiary education, ideally within computer science or IT. Preferably, you have served as a uniformed officer, or at least had experience in the Australian Defence Force as a civilian. This is to ensure that you can provide strategic and tactical military knowledge from up-to-date practices.

 

Furthermore, ideally you:

  • Have experience at exercising the military command process in a staff role at battalion level or higher
  • Can deliver presentations to large audiences at senior command level
  • Have a hands-on, can-do positive personality that combines technical and human strengths
  • Have experience with command and control information systems
  • Are fluent in English with excellent communication skills, written as well as spoken
  • Are willing to travel, approximately 10-20% of the time.

 

Moreover, you have basic experience with networks and operating systems, and ideally have experience with the installation, configuration and deployment of IT systems. We work on security classified projects, and as a Systematic employee based in Australia you must be able to obtain Australian Negative Vet Level 1 (NV1) or higher security clearance.
