

Contract Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contract Manager to join our team in Canberra. This pivotal role involves providing legal advice, managing, and administering contracts.
If you join as our new Contract Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring contract compliance as well as identifying and mitigating contractual and financial risks, and commercial and continuous improvement opportunities, throughout the contract life-cycle.
Your key Responsibilities
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met, managing changes and resolving disagreements.
- Identify risks and issues, proposing mitigation actions to the Project Manager.
- Provide interpretation and advice on customer procurement policies, regulations, and contract requirements to stakeholders.
- Offer internal guidance on contract obligations, requirements, policies and procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive contract documentation and administration systems.
- Collaborate with Operations, Business Development, and Finance to manage program financial arrangements, including milestone payments, cashflow management, and escalation provisions.
- Manage contractual health and safety compliance, supply chain assurance, and acceptance activities.
- Contribute to bid and proposal activities, including preparing commercial elements and participating in management reviews.
The skills and experience we are looking for
Preferably you bring tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or Law, and experience in contract management, supply chain, or procurement in contract and supplier management activities. Additionally, you must have the ability to engage, influence, and build strong working relationships to achieve common goals and project objectives, as well as expertise in stakeholder, and risk/opportunity management.
We also expect that you have strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work productively in team and autonomous environments.
If you have knowledge of ASDEFCON procurement and contract methodology it is desirable.
Baseline Security Clearance
