About the position

Become part of our growing Defence teams working on the SitaWare Headquarters program—an essential battle management system that strengthens decision-making across land, air, and maritime operations. With over 15 years on the market, the latest generation has been evolving for around seven years, receiving regular UI updates. Now, we're embarking on the development of a new generation over the next few releases.

This role is based in our Bucharest office and is part of Systematic’s Defence Business Unit. The program consists of six development teams, each with 8–12 developers, testers, and an architect, supported by test management, UX, and program management. You’ll join a UX team with two existing members and work alongside a designer. 

As our new UX Designer, you will work on improving the usability of both new features and our existing product. You’ll be the first UX team member in Romania, where you’ll help develop our UX skills, support the local team, and play a key role in the success of the program.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Establish UX concept as part of feature clarification. 
• Align proposed solution with PO, architect and development team. 
• Mature UX prototype and hand over to development team. 
• Inspect UX during feature implementation. 
• Assess or raise UX-issues identified on existing functionality. 
• Explore options for UX concepts for new business ideas. 

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, a related technical field, or Design, with over 4 years of professional experience
• Proficient in English and confident working in an international setting
• Experience with tools such as Figma and Axure
• Nice to have: Knowledge or experience in the military domain or with NATO
