Test Manager for the Library team

 

Would you like to contribute to delivering integrated, innovative library solutions by managing and optimizing testing processes and ensuring the highest product quality through the Systematic development process?

 

The project
The Library business unit delivers professional software solutions for public and school libraries. It owns the full lifecycle of the Cicero platform – from early specification to release, deployment, maintenance, and continuous evolution of the solution.

 

Cicero Product Engineering consists of cross-functional, distributed agile teams across Aarhus, Copenhagen, and Romania. Teams collaborate within SAFe and Systematic’s CMMI- and ISO-certified process frameworks.


In the beginning of the employment, please expect to travel to Aarhus for approximately 2 weeks, to attend an onboarding course and be acquainted with the company, culture, project, and team.

 

Your daily impact 
The Test Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality deliveries across our products by defining the test strategy, planning and coordinating testing activities, and securing visibility and control in the full test process. The role plays a central part in ensuring that Systematic delivers reliable and user-focused software in line with project goals, product roadmaps, and quality standards.

 

You would be expected to:

 

As part of this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery, quality, and evolution of the Cicero product line by working closely with stakeholders across the organisation.

 

Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration

Collaborate with Program Managers and Customer Project Managers to ensure strong customer alignment, clear expectations, and successful milestone delivery.
Act as a key interface between customer-facing roles and internal development teams, ensuring transparency and alignment.


Product & Business Alignment

Work closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to support the product vision, define value, and align backlog priorities.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Cicero product line in collaboration with the Library Business Unit Management.
Support budget planning, resource allocation, and long-term success of the product portfolio.


Delivery & Team Leadership

Lead and support the test engineers (direct reports) in day-to-day delivery activities, including backlog refinement, coordination, and progress tracking.
Ensure effective execution across multiple development teams while maintaining focus on delivery commitments and quality.


Architecture & Technical Direction

Collaborate with Solution and Software Architects to align delivery with architectural direction, technical standards, and long-term platform sustainability.
Ensure that development practices support scalability, maintainability, and future growth.


Development, Testing & Quality

Work closely with developers and testers across Cicero product development teams to ensure efficient implementation of new features and maintenance tasks.
Ensure robust automated and manual test strategies, release readiness, and overall product quality.
Promote a strong quality mindset across teams.


Process, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

Oversee and support adherence to organisational processes and compliance standards (e.g. CMMI, ISO).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to development processes, documentation, and audits.


Operations, Support & DevOps

Collaborate with Support and Maintenance teams to incorporate customer feedback, operational insights, and maintenance needs into the development backlog.
Work with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to ensure smooth release management, reliable build pipelines, deployment processes, and operational stability.


Cross-Organisational Collaboration

Partner with People & Culture Business Partners on recruitment, team development, performance management, and organisational health.

 

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • Solid experience with agile frameworks (SAFe preferred), including PI Planning and cross-team facilitation.
  • Strong competencies with Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong experience working with KPIs, burn-down charts, and performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with CMMI, ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and process governance.
  • Experience with distributed international teams is an advantage.

 

Required expertise:

  • Have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. ISTQB certification (Advanced Test Manager or equivalent) is highly valued.
  • Experience with quality frameworks such as CMMI and ISO standards is advantageous.
  • 7+ years in software testing, including 3+ years in test management or test leadership roles
  • Proven experience defining and implementing test strategies for software products
  • Strong background in both manual and automated testing approaches
  • Experience leading test teams and coordinating testing across multiple agile teams
  • Demonstrated ability to establish quality gates and release readiness criteria
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and a genuine interest in working in a diverse, international setting
