Software Developer (Java, Angular) for Defence Training Platform

 

About the position

 

You will be part of our growing Defence business unit that develops new products within the Defence Service Product Management team. Together with highly skilled colleagues, you will accelerate the development and implementation of our new and innovative training solution SitaWare Aspire, a digital training platform. It enables users to “train as you fight” and is an efficient learning platform for our customers. The solution is modern and intuitive, and we continuously improve it to provide the best offering for our customer. The product is the newest portfolio with more to come. One of our current priorities is scalability of the Aspire platform to ensure as many concurrent users as possible.
The team consists of 11 ambitious & competent teammates in the roles of Software Architect, Instructional Designer, Product Manager, developers etc. We believe in a good work environment, where we respect the work-life balance. Responsibilities and tasks

 

We expect you to take part in technical and conceptual discussions, where all arguments are put forth, so everybody contributes and the team can share the ownership of the solutions. The best solutions come from a diverse set of perspectives and opinions. 

 

Your daily tasks will involve:

  • Designing and implementing high-quality integrations between existing Defence products and the Learning Management System
  • Implement new functionalities or features
  • Implementing best practices and finding optimum solutions together with the other team members
  • Taking an active role in the decision-making for the new product features and architecture
  • Troubleshooting, optimizing and solving complex problems in an existing codebase

 

 

What should you bring in?

 

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant development education
  • You have at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
  • You have experience working with the following:
    • For backend: Spring using Kotlin or Java
    • For frontend: Angular, Typescript and JavaScript
    • Containerization using Docker
  • You are an outstanding team player who values teamwork and who believes that goals can only be reached by working together
  • You take ownership, have a can-do attitude and a continuous improvement mindset
  • As a person, you are ambitious and eager to learn
  • You are fluent in English and thrive in an international working environment.

 

 

It would be a plus

 

  • If you had experience with building and deploying microservices
  • If you worked with Agile development methodologies
  • If you had experience with Relational Databases
  • If you had experience with Keycloak
  • If you had experience with Kubernetes

Practical information

 

  • Travel might be expected to our Headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark
  • We work with security classified projects, therefore, as a Systematic employee, you must have a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO/EU country for the past seven years. Additionally, it is a requirement to obtain a security clearance when working in our Defence Business Unit. Please read more here.
