Software Architect

The Mobile program delivers software to vehicles and the dismounted commander. The software can be used in military conflicts as well as for disaster relief operations. This program consists of six scrum teams situated in Denmark and Romania. You will be part of two of these teams. The teams currently consists of 15 developers, 3 testers and a project manager. The teams are located in Bucharest and both are well-established teams who have worked together for some years.

As an Architect, you will be part of two of these teams charged with developing new software solutions for our customers. Together with the Program Architect, you will set the direction for designing new features that have useability and quality at their core.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• You will work with the teams you are part of and guide them during the development phase to ensure the features fulfil product and system requirements.
• Your key task will be ensuring that the work on new product releases fulfils key software quality attributes such as security, scalability, performance and maintainability.
• You will, together with the project manager, drive initiatives to improve the two team’s way of working, to be efficient and ensuring high quality code.
• You will spend around 20% of your time coding. This could be whether helping developers, creating proof of concepts, or investigating new tools/frameworks.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering
• 2+ years of experience as a Software Architect or similar and up to 7-10 years experience in software development
• Experience with development and maintenance of products is a plus
• Domain knowledge from the Defense sector is a plus
• You master the classic architectural skills and are proficient in Java, Angular and TypeScript
• You have programmed in object-oriented languages; our platform runs on Windows, Android and Linux, which you should also be familiar with
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Ideally, you hold a software architect certificate, but this not a requirement
• You must be fluent in both oral and written English
• Travel to Aarhus should be expected, around 15-30 days the first year.
