Software Architect

In Library and Learning, you find a diverse group of architects, software developers, testers, implementation consultant, project managers, former librarians, business developers, etc. They all contribute developing and constantly improving Cicero - a world class library solution.


Your key responsibilities will include:

 

The Software Architect analyzes requirements, proposes solutions, and oversees the implementation, ensuring it meets functional and non-functional requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. 

 

The Software Architect is responsible for:
•    Setting the direction of the product for the team on a technical level, including both functional requirements and non-functional requirements like quality, scalability and performance; 
•    Ensuring alignment with stakeholders in Product Management, other architects/ product owners within the program and across the products suite, as well as the project managers of the teams; 

 

The Software Architect might also be involved in the development on key features:

 

Solution Design: 
•    Developing technical designs, system diagrams, and documentation for the solution, including component specifications and integration points. 
•    Conduct front run for a new feature by translating customer needs into product requirements and breaking down the feature into smaller development pieces

 

Technology Evaluation: 
•    Selecting appropriate technologies and platforms to meet functional and non-functional requirements. 
•    Create and evolve the architectural vision for the team. Identify and prioritize technical issues or improvements

 

Technical Guidance:
•    Guiding the development and implementation of the solution, ensuring it aligns with the designed architecture. 
•     Providing technical leadership, ensuring projects adhere to architectural guidelines and standards, and resolving technical issues.  
•    Sparring with developers to solve complex technical challenges and might lend a hand on development of key features.
•    Able to translate user needs and design solutions, document and communicate the vision on the right abstraction level

 

Stakeholder Collaboration: 
•    Communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and working with various stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support. 
•    Align with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure that the Cicero product suite is developed in compliance with the customers’ expectations and aligned with our product development roadmap

 

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
•    Monitoring the solution's performance and making necessary adjustments to ensure it meets business needs and objectives.
•    Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends to improve solution effectiveness and efficiency


 
What we are looking for:

•    BcS in Computer engineering or any other IT-related study field 
•    IT-related master degree.
•    10-15 years of experience with large, complex software solution development and implementation
•    At least 1 year as a software architect 
Experience working with product development and leading large teams of software developers.
•    Extensive previous experience with programing using Java Platform (i.e., Java SE 8 or later, Java EE 8 or later);
•    Previous working experience with modern frontend technologies/ frameworks (preferably Angular 2+, or working experience with similar frameworks);
•    Solid working knowledge with databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL).    

 

Previous experience with:
•    Keycloak;
•    Microservices; 
•    Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Compose;
•    Elasticsearch, Solr;
•    Bitbucket/Git;
•    SonarQube. 

Strong command of the English language, both speaking and writing
