About the Position

Systematic is a leading global Software Development company. Our mission is to provide exceptional software for critical decision making. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented Senior IT Support Consultant to join our Group IT (GRIT) Service Desk team in Bucharest.

Group IT (GRIT) is a business-critical function in GBS Systematic that support the company’s operational excellence, resilience, and long-term success. GRIT is responsible for meeting the business demands and delivering consistent, reliable IT services across the entire Systematic Group.

Being a Senior IT Consultant is more than a support role—it's an opportunity to shape the future of our Service Desk. We're looking for someone who can challenge the status quo, drive modernization, and help transform how we deliver IT support. You'll bring fresh thinking, identify opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of turning ideas into reality—all while ensuring our daily operations run smoothly.

As Senior IT Support Consultant, your key responsibilities will span across the following areas:

Service Desk Modernization & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the modernization of Service Desk operations by critically assessing current processes and identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Challenge established ways of working—spot inefficiencies and take charge of implementing meaningful improvements.
  • Identify tasks and workflows that are candidates for automation, standardization, or simplification – you don't need to build the automation yourself, but you can spot where it would add value.
  • Explore and introduce AI tools and emerging technologies that can enhance Service Desk efficiency and user experience.
  • Document, update, and refine processes to ensure they remain current and effective.

Technical Support & Daily Operations

  • Provide hands-on technical support to end-users, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Deliver onsite support including walk-ins, maintaining meeting room equipment, and ensuring printers and office equipment function properly.
  • Handle escalated tickets and resolve complex issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address critical incidents.

Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing

  • Mentor junior IT support staff, providing guidance and knowledge transfer.
  • Serve as the go-to technical resource when colleagues need assistance with troubleshooting.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Security & Compliance

  • Understand and enforce security policies and protocols.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging threats.
  • Participate in regular security audits and risk assessments.

Required Expertise:

  • Technical bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in IT support, with demonstrated focus on troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Windows technologies and environments.
  • Solid experience with VPN, Office 365 applications, meeting room equipment, printers, and ITSM tools (preferably Ivanti Neurons).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and preferably basic knowledge of Active Directory and cloud services.
  • Mobile device operating system knowledge is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English; comfortable working in an international environment.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Is eager to drive their own development and not afraid of taking initiative.
  • Champion a mindset of smart, impactful change—not change for the sake of change.
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment within the team.
  • Brings fresh perspectives and isn't hesitant to challenge "the way things have always been done."
  • Can balance driving change with supporting daily operations effectively.
  • Is a dedicated team player who thrives on close cooperation with colleagues across the organization.
  • Proven experience working with continual improvement methodologies or process optimization initiatives.
  • A process-oriented mindset—you understand how to map, analyze, improve, and document workflows.
