The project

We are looking for a People Manager to lead the Group IT personnel working in Systematic office in Bucharest. You will be part of the GRIT extended management team and the Romanian management team. Expect close teamwork with experienced colleagues as you take your career to the next level.
Group IT (GRIT) is a business-critical function in GBS Systematic that support the company’s operational excellence, resilience, and long-term success. GRIT is responsible for meeting the business demands and delivering consistent, reliable IT services across the entire Systematic Group.
GRIT is organized into three focused segments: Strategy, Engineering, and Services, strengthening the ability to align IT with business goals, build new capabilities, and deliver at speed and scale. Our IT professionals are located in 4 sites – Aarhus, Copenhagen, Bucharest and Canberra – and deliver services for all Systematic employees working in 17 offices across 15 countries.
Your daily impact
As People Manager you will be the local representative for the GRIT management within Systematic office in Bucharest and thereby be the direct manager for GRIT personnel working in the Bucharest office.
You would be expected to:
Your direct reports are IT operation professionals covering a wide array of responsibilities in areas such as service desk (1st level support), infrastructure operations, monitoring, network and security. They work in a distributed way, collaborating closely with their colleagues located in the other sites, and being responsible for:
• Maintaining developer toolchains and providing support
• Handling application support, monitoring, and upgrades
• Operating SOC processes, managing vulnerabilities, and incident responding
• Providing frontline incident handling and SLA tracking
• Maintaining and patching infrastructure and managing vendors
• Monitoring performance, handling incidents, and recovery processes
The People Manager is the overall responsible for the management of the team directly reporting to him/ her, keeping people and teams engaged and securing the right competencies, staffing and capabilities.
While the People Manager oversees the team from a people-growth and engagement perspective, the functional management of the team – such as task assignment, technical guidance, and workflow oversight – is handled by the Functional Manager. Thus, the activities under the People manager’s responsibility are carried out in close collaboration with the Functional Managers that specific employees are currently allocated to.
As People Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
• Overseeing the employee lifecycle and supporting the team throughout the full employee journey
• Driving employee engagement and retention
o The People Manager is responsible for optimizing the employee satisfaction score. The People Manager must take the necessary actions in cooperation with the GRIT organization structures the employees are currently allocated to, to maintain the job satisfaction at a high level
• Fostering Workplace Culture & Support
o The People Manager has the responsibility of ensuring that the employees always have the adequate work environment to carry out their duties. This includes making sure the physical and psychological work environment is adequate and conforms to Systematic’s standards
• Driving employee development
o The People Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining development plans for all employees and continuously following-up on the progress of the employees
o The People Manager must ensure that employees adhere to Systematic’s values and becomes part of the Systematic work culture
• Ensuring Effective Performance Management
o The People Manager is responsible for continuous performance review and optimization for the employees by facilitating continuous feedback to the employees on their performance, typically through monthly 1-on-1 sessions and annual formal performance reviews
• Leading the salary process
o The People Manager is responsible for driving the salary process for the employees by proposing suitable salary regulations based on performance of specific employees and conducting salary talks with the employees
Required expertise:
BA in a relevant domain (IT, Management or other relevant domain);
• At least 10 years in a similar role, preferably within software development environments;
• Strong communication skills;
• Solid understanding and application of the stakeholder management practices, as the role implies conducting regular meetings as well as ad-hoc consultations with the functional managers and upper management, People & Culture Business Partners
• Fluent English skills;
• People person, structured, coordination capabilities, drive, independent, proactive, coaching skills, mentoring skills;
• Travel might be expected to our Headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark (3-4 weeks per year).
