About the position

The position is located at our office in Bucharest and falls under Systematic’s Defence area. As a junior test engineer, you will be a member of one of our many projects, which means that you will be co-responsible for certain parts of the software testing process and support our customers on equal terms with your team members.

You will also get the opportunity to work with prototypes and innovation as well as new applications and features, helping to ensure their quality and reliability. We'll set you up right from the start and make sure you have access to the necessary courses, tools, professional guidance, and feedback to meet the customer's requirements. The tools and processes you will be working with are dependent on the team and business area you will be part of.

Your Daily Impact 

At Systematic, juniors are treated as equal team members from day one. After a thorough introduction to the project and domain, you’ll take part in the team’s testing tasks and be trusted to manage your own assignments. We focus on supporting your professional growth while aligning your goals with both your studies and our priorities.

Some of your key tasks will be to:

• Create and maintain various types of test documentation such as Test Considerations, Test Cases, risk analyses, and defect reports.
• Be actively involved in the development process by asking critical questions, understanding the assignment, and working closely with all stakeholders such as developers, Product Owner, and Project Manager.
• Participate in test activities including System Test, Field Test, Bug Hunt, etc.
• Contribute to test planning, assist in automation design, and help ensure new features are built with testability in mind.
• You will also be the customers advocate for a usable product

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.

Technologies used    

• Linux CLI 
• Docker, with Kubernetes experience preferred 
• Robot Framework, Cypress
• JIRA, Xray & R4J
• Scripting language e.g., Bash, PowerShell

What we are looking for:

• A recent graduate in Computer Science or a similar technical field, with a basic understanding of software testing principles and a strong desire to learn and grow in a real-world environment;

• Fluent in English and comfortable working in an international team setting;

• Nice to have: experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell, and familiarity with the military domain.
