IT Project Manager for Defence Product

Established just a couple of years ago, we have already built a dedicated team of 18 professionals, including 8 developers, operating in both Aarhus and Bucharest. We are divided into two teams Service Product Management and Service Product Development, each contributing with their respective expertise. 

 

We are gearing up for substantial growth within Service Product Development, with plans to expand our department with 10 new colleagues in the coming year. As part of this exciting expansion, we are looking for a Project Manager to join us in Bucharest. Collaborating closely with our existing Project Manager in Aarhus, you will play a key role in scaling up and leading our Product Development team in Bucharest. 

 

Today the portfolio of products contains SitaWare Aspire a digital training platform for our Defence customers. The solution is modern and intuitive, although we continuously refine it to provide our customers with the best offering. The product is the newest in our portfolio, with more in the pipeline.

 

You will take on the role of project management, overseeing the local scrum team and its responsibilities in Bucharest. The local team currently consist of 3 developers (and growing) who are working in an agile development environment following the scrum process, while continuously improving the way we work and delivering high quality products. You will:

 

•    Lead and deliver quarterly releases to meet market demands using project management disciplines like risk management, stakeholder management, planning, KPI’s and reporting
•    Build and continuously improve high performance scrum team(s), ensuring a strong Systematic culture locally at the Bucharest office.
•    Recruit and onboard new employees.
•    Grow talents and skilled team members through employee development and people management.
•    Set the direction for the team(s) and ensure a high level of employee satisfaction
•    Ensure excellent long-distance management – working in close collaboration with team members and project manager at our headquarters in Denmark. 

 

Some travel activity is to be expected as you will be visiting our headquarter in Aarhus, Denmark.

Good experience with IT project management
Most important to this position is your experience with people management and project management discipline (planning, risk management, stakeholder management, reporting, KPIs etc.), of at least 3 years. As a person you: 

 

•    Have IT-related qualifications comparable to PMI/PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA Level C/D
•    Have relevant bachelor and/or master’s degree
•    Are able to manage and deliver complex and agile projects
•    Have a proven ability to deliver on cost, schedule and quality
•    Have People Management experience
•    Have leadership experience and have the ability to coach and motivate inside your project and in the program
•    Have a mindset of improvement and always strive to do better and deliver more value
•    Focus on great processes and a structure that allows you to translate strategy into implementation and results
•    Are outgoing and have an infectious energy that makes everyone want to strive to do better as a team
•    You are fluent in English both verbally and in writing
•    Military knowledge or experience is an advantage but not a requirement

Practical information: 
•    Hybrid setup: office and remote work
•    Our team is based in Romania and Denmark, with collaboration and occasional travel between the two locations, so you should expect 2-4 weeks of travel per year. 
•    Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO/EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
