You will join our Defence Service organisation and be part of a specialist unit engaged in implementing our command-and-control solutions in Central European markets. Based in Bern, you will join and work closely in a small team and report to the Senior Project Manager for the Defence Central Europe Constellation.
The Project Manager’s wingman 
As a Solution Architect, you will be working with our development teams to provide end-to-end technical solutions across several areas. It will be your responsibility to develop and refine technical solutions that meet or exceed all technical requirements while working closely with the customer and the software development teams. The role is very hands-on, and also includes integration and deployment work.
You will: 
•    have overall responsibility for Systematic’s part of the technical solution while supporting the customer’s team in designing the overall solution
•    deliver and implement our command-and-control system
•    advise customers in designing and deploying our system
•    participate in customer meetings to align strategies and determine the business and technical requirements that will be used in developing solutions or solution alternatives 
•    serve as a hands-on Solution Architect and leverage expertise in architecting, designing and building medium to large-scale systems
•    participate in delivering both pre-sales and post-sales support to a variety of customers and stakeholders 
•    participate in writing the technical part of proposals and estimating the technical solutions
Customer-facing role and broad IT technical expertise
You are experienced within software engineering, and you have broad IT technical expertise and a sound knowledge of solution design and implementation. To succeed in this role, you will need to draw on your strong technical leadership and communication skills, enabling you to motivate, guide and influence your stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.
You know how to successfully manage stakeholder expectations while working in an agile and dynamic environment with deadlines, budgets and resources. 
It is vital that you enjoy a customer-facing role, and you are strong at building organisational relationships and networking.
In addition, we are also looking for:
•    a candidate with a relevant technical degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level
•    Hands-on experience and experience from own former development activities with technologies such as Java, C# and .NET 
•    practical Scrum experience, which is a must
•    an engaging team player who is resilient, responsible and well-organised  
•    a commercial and business-oriented mindset combined with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities within a sales process
