Integration Engineer Defence (m/f/d) – Bern 

 

As an Integration Engineer at Systematic, you will play a key role in implementing and integrating our Command & Control solutions, particularly for the Swiss Army and other defence clients across Europe. You will solve technical challenges independently and successfully deploy our systems in operational environments.

Our Swiss location is characterized by close customer proximity. We primarily work directly at the client’s site, where our own office spaces are available. The job 

  • Technical consulting, implementation, and optimization of tactical communication systems and IT solutions
  • Ensuring timely delivery of projects within the agreed scope
  • Designing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions (SitaWare Suite)
  • Developing and conducting proofs-of-concept and technical demonstrations
  • Conducting technical training for administrators
  • Setting up training environments
  • Supporting the training of administrators and end users
  • Coordination with internal and external stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, consultants, colleagues)
  • Ensuring alignment between client expectations and product development
  • Providing first- and second-level support
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues in complex system environments
  • Supporting demonstrations and showcases for senior military personnel
  • Technical assistance with testing and quality assurance 

 

Your qualifications 

The following tools and technologies are frequently used at our company. We do not expect you to master everything from day one; what matters most is your personal experience and willingness to learn. 

 

  • Completed degree or training in IT, electrical engineering, or a comparable field 
  • Experience in defence or military environments is an advantage 
  • Knowledge of software development or testing is desirable 
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical challenges in mixed software/hardware environments 
  • Experience with IT platforms (Windows, Linux, Android) and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, storage solutions, databases 
  • Good understanding of IP networks (TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, DHCP, DNS, NAT) 
  • Desirable: experience with military systems, radios, ITIL, Scrum 
  • Excellent German or French skills, plus outstanding English proficiency 
  • Strong consulting skills, teamwork, and solution-oriented approach 
  • Willingness to travel within the Bern/Thun region and occasionally across Central Europe 
  • Willingness to undergo basic security clearance (PSP-11)
