Systematic - IT Solutions for critical decision making in demanding situationsSystematic - IT Solutions for critical decision making in demanding situations

Training Specialist

Do you have a military background and a drive to turn operational expertise into training that prepares armed forces for real-world missions? At Systematic, you can bring your field experience directly to bear in the development of training for SitaWare – a C2 solution used by armed forces worldwide.

The role: advising on and executing training that combines military doctrine with SitaWare
As a Training Specialist, you will bring your military insight to the heart of how we develop training for SitaWare users. As part of the Training & Development team, you will ensure that training content reflects real operational practice – from collective training programmes and exercise scenarios to C2 guidance grounded in military doctrine.

Some of your key tasks will be to:

  • analyse, implement and evaluate (ADDIE) new training courses in collaboration with Systematic trainers across the organisation and the rest of the Training & Development team
  • develop and maintain Subject Training Plans (STP) for the Systematic Defence Standard Training Catalogue
  • develop and execute collective training programmes, including scenario creation for instructor-led and self-paced training
  • advise the team from a domain perspective, ensuring operational accuracy for training materials
  • support exercise planning and provide guidance on C2 workflows and military doctrine

You should expect some international travel as part of the job, approximately 10–20 days per year.

The team: join a committed group of defence training professionals in Aarhus
You will join the Training & Development team within Defence Service Products – a department established just a couple of years ago but already home to 20+ dedicated professionals based in Aarhus and Copenhagen.

The team is a diverse mix of video content creators, instructional designers and domain experts, who collaborate to create impactful learning experiences. As a new colleague, you will be joining a team where training is at the heart of everything we do. Collective training is an exciting and growing area for us, and your military insight will be central to how we develop that capability further.

Your qualifications: military experience at tactical level, with a knack for training development
You will bring hands-on military experience and understand how training works in practice – not just in theory. You will be comfortable advising others from a domain perspective while also rolling up your sleeves to develop training materials yourself.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • a military background at officer level, preferably with experience as a premier lieutenant or on track towards captain, and some exposure to staff work at battalion or brigade level
  • strong experience in exercise planning and training development
  • a relevant bachelor’s degree as a minimum
  • experience with SitaWare or similar C2 tools
  • a collaborative working style and the ability to communicate clearly across teams and stakeholders while not being afraid to get into the details to ensure training content is accurate, relevant and aligned with standards
  • experience of Active Reserve service would be an advantage but is not a requirement

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years, as we work on security-classified projects. Read more here.
