Test Engineer for SitaWare Mobile

About this position
In the position as Test Engineer, you will be joining a well-established program with approx. Fifty highly skilled colleagues who work closely to ensure high-quality products for our customers. 
The SitaWare Mobile program comprises five cross-functional teams in Aarhus, Denmark, and Bucharest, Romania. Each scrum team includes Developers, Testers and a dedicated scrum master. 

 

As our Test Engineer, you are a crucial part of the development process, as testing is incorporated from the early stages of development and throughout the entire process. This ensures a high-quality product that supports our end-users in making effective decisions in critical situations.

 

You can also look forward to joining a strong and unique network consisting of 25 Testers and Test Managers, organized under one Test Project Manager in Defence, which provides you with an outstanding opportunity to engage in knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues from across the business unit. 
 
What to expect? 
As a Systematic Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring high quality in developing and maintaining mission-critical software products. You will work in close collaboration with your development teams. You will be responsible for providing early test designs that set the framework for feature tests and risk assessment and decide what will be tested and when. Furthermore, you will follow the development process closely and continuously engage with the Software Developers on your team to understand customer requirements. The release cycle culminates with system tests that include regression tests of our applications, bug hunts and integration test where you will be a crucial participant and play a key role.
 
You raise the bar for quality assurance, and your daily tasks will involve the following:

  • Ensuring a high level of quality throughout the complete feature process.
  • Early test involvement in our development process 
  • Create test design, test cases and other relevant documentation 
  • Participate in all test activities such as system tests, field tests, bug hunts etc.
  • Be an active part of the automation process.
  • Support the development and maintenance of our test environments.
  • Run continuous risk assessments of the overall product quality throughout the implementation phase.

 
What are we expecting? 

  • You either hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or have a relevant career in quality assurance. If you have experience from the military and working with C4 products, this also qualifies.
  • You have a proactive, goal-oriented mindset and can work in an analytical and structured manner.
  • You are outgoing and interested in building solid relationships with your colleagues through close collaboration.
  • You are quality-conscious and ready to speak up if the quality is compromised or improvements can be made.
  • You have a flexible mindset in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are fluent in English and thrive in an international working environment.

Which technical competencies are relevant to bring?

  • If you have a technical background in software development or similar, that is beneficial for you.
  • An ISTQB certification or other relevant certificate (not mandatory).
  • Some years of experience working with software testing.
  • An interest in or some experience working within the military domain.
  • Experience working within some of the following areas:
    • Robot Framework, JIRA/XRay, test design techniques or scrum. (Not mandatory, nice to have)

 
Practical information

  • You can expect 5-10 days of travel each year to our office in Romania to visit your team colleagues.
