Be part of our HQ program and contribute to a skilled international test team
As a Tester, you will be part of the HQ program, which currently consists of 60 members split between Aarhus and Bucharest. You will join a dedicated SCRUM team alongside one full-time Tester, 4–6 Developers, one Architect, and a Project Manager.
The HQ program includes multiple SCRUM teams, bringing together 12 other full-time Testers, a Test Manager, Developers, Architects, UX specialists, and Project Managers. Additionally, you will be part of DEF’s broader Test Team, a dynamic group of over 40 QA professionals.
Ensure high quality in a Mission-Critical Battle Management System
SitaWare Headquarters (HQ) is the core of the SitaWare product suite—a cross-domain battle management system designed to enhance decision-making across land, air, and maritime forces. It provides commanders with powerful tools to coordinate operations, exchange vital information, and develop joint strategic plans within their own, coalition, and joint battle networks.
The Apex team plays a key role in delivering essential features, covering installation, configuration, authentication, and authorization.
Your role as a Test Engineer:
As a Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of quality assurance of our component areas. You will be a part of the development from the early planning stages to the final delivery. While manual testing is your primary focus you will also be involved in our automation test strategy.
What you can expect:
- Drive quality from the start: Ensure a high level of test quality throughout the entire feature development process by early test involvement. As a test engineer you will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance on the highest level.
- Own the test documentation: Create and maintain essential test artifacts, including test considerations, test cases, risk analyses, and defect reports.
- Be a key player in development: Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, project managers, and other stakeholders to ask the critical questions and ensure quality-driven development.
- Engage in diverse testing activities: Participate in system testing, field testing, bug hunts, and other test efforts to validate our features in real-world scenarios.
- Shape testing strategies: Contribute to test planning, engage in automation design, and ensure new features are built with testability in mind.

What we're looking for
We’re seeking a Tester with preferable 1–3 years of software testing experience and a background in Computer Science or similar relevant educational background. You can also be a newly graduate with the right motivation for the role and be qualified.
Equivalent hands-on testing expertise would be an advantage. It would be beneficial if you have experience working with Linux CLI, Docker (ideally Kubernetes). We use tools such as JIRA, Xray, and R4J long with scripting in Bash or PowerShell.
Experience in the military domain is a plus but not required, and an interest in automation will be an advantage.
Key skills & requirements:
- Strong analytical and structured approach to testing
- Strong communication skills are required (both oral and in written)
- English is our corporate language so you should be fluent in English
- Ability of design relevant Test Cases
- Being curious and creative, asking questions and being able to look at the bigger picture
As a person you are detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating with the team. There can be occasional travel days (5–10 days per year) to visit our teams on our other locations.
