System Test Engineer for military message management-system

Are you interested in military communication systems, and are you well-versed in software test and test processes? Then this opening might be something for you!

A product for critical decision-making requires a highly skilled group of colleagues
Working with our IRIS suite, you will work with one of the most advanced communication tools for military use. It is a well-founded product with a strong history and a significant impact for thousands of soldiers worldwide. Being part of the team, you will join 21 colleagues, where 15 are placed in Aarhus, Denmark, 6 in Bucharest, Romania and one in Farnborough, UK. The team comprises a Project Manager, a Product Owner, an Architect, developers, a UX designer, test colleagues and a Test Manager.

Design, define and drive tests to ensure value for soldiers
As our new test colleague, you will be vital to the development process by continuously collaborating with the team to ensure qualitative software. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the creation of all relevant test documents, such as writing test cases, doing test considerations, doing risk analysis, and being an active part of quality assurance.
In short, you can look forward to:

  • Designing and executing test cases, tracking requirements and conducting exploratory testing
  • Configuring test environment and deployments of builds,
  • Being an active part in sprint  activities(planning, demo, daily stand-up & retrospectives)
  • Following the defect lifecycle (reporting new defects, verifying fixed defects, track and monitor defects),
  • Executing tests on different levels (System Test, Smoke Test, Story/Feature test, Integration Test),
  • Actively identify and suggest potential tests that are suited for automation by developers.

As a Test Engineer, you will primarily be working with Jira and the plugins Xray and R4J, working on both Windows and Linux machines. Furthermore, we are looking at automation in PowerShell.

A keen eye for details and a mind for improvements
We are looking for a colleague with 3-5 years of quality assurance experience or an operational background working with military message handling, like C2/C4 systems or similar. Furthermore, we are looking for someone with experience in Interoperability, Link16, SatCom, APP11, or similar systems or a technical background in test and quality assurance. Lastly, we expect all of our colleagues to be fluent in English, both in speech and writing.

Experience within the Navy or Air Force is a great advantage, and we are always pleased if you have touched upon either our SitaWare or IRIS suite, or similar defence software products, but this is not a requirement.

You can expect approximately 10-15 travel days annually for office visits, conferences and courses.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO/EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
