Solution Engineer for Defence Services

Aarhus, Denmark.

Would you enjoy a customer-facing engineering role as a key player delivering and implementing tactical communications systems and IT solutions? And are you motivated by wanting to make a difference and working in an agile environment with highly skilled colleagues?

Then seize this opportunity to join our Defence Services team in Aarhus – we are a specialist unit engaged in implementing Systematic’s Command & Control solutions in the Royal Danish Army and the Nordics.

Customer-facing engineering role

As a Solution Engineer, you will be a key player in delivering our SitaWare and Iris suite for defence customers, mainly in Denmark but also in the other Nordic countries. Tactical decision-making is crucial for being able to execute on strategy, yet it can be achieved through an integrated, ultra-modern command and control toolset. The solution is all-encompassing; radio, mobile, vehicle, web and application-based. With reporting across the spectrum of devices back to command HQ in real time. You will be working closely with multiple customers – to roll out a mission-critical system that creates value by simplifying decision-making within areas such as solution design, configuration, installation, technical support, technical training, interoperability, development and testing.

Providing technical support and advice both on site and back office, your key tasks will include:

  • Designing, implementing and supporting technical solutions
  • Ensuring that your projects are delivered within the agreed scope and time-frame
  • Conducting technical training for our customers – both in classroom environments and in workshop-like set-ups
  • Supporting the training of administrators and end-users
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, consultants and colleagues at Systematic
  • Keeping up to date on the status of Systematic products and support to ensure alignment of customer expectations and product roadmaps, maximising value for both our customers and our products
  • First and second-level customer support

Your place of work will be at our head office in Aarhus, Denmark, and you should expect some travel (usually 2-4 days at a time) as part of your close partnerships with customers across Denmark (and potentially the rest of the Nordic region).

Our new colleague

….. enjoys participating in customer-facing activities such as presentations, technical support and training. Your ability to instil trust in our customers ensures that we maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and allows us to grow the business.

Ideally, you:

  • hold a technical degree at Bachelor or Master’s level
  • have a couple of years of experience from a similar position as a software developer/service solution engineer
  • are a strong and collaborative communicator both in Danish and English
  • enjoy working in an agile environment (Scrum experience is a plus)
  • are eager to make a difference and step outside your comfort zone

Furthermore, you probably have experience within some or all of the following: tactical communications systems, software development, IT infrastructure, software and system testing and/or test management (e.g. ISTQB), technical training, external customer-facing projects, delivering services and consultancy in the IT sector.

It would be an advantage if you have a military background from an IT-related role in the Danish armed forces.

We work with security classified projects and, as a Systematic employee, you require security clearance. For more information about security clearance, please visit: https://systematic.com/en-gb/careers/security-clearance/
