Software Architect – plan, design and develop solutions for the front-line commander

We are looking for a new Software Architect for our Mobile programme – is this the job for you? Now is your chance to participate in developing software for our next-generation Mobile defence products – SitaWare Frontline and SitaWare Edge. Products that save lives!

Join an experienced and expanding development programme
The Mobile programme delivers software to vehicles and the dismounted commander. The software can be used in military conflicts as well as for disaster relief operations. And it provides an API that allows customers to integrate with sensors and drones. It implements resilient network protocols, so front-line commanders have a shared situational picture. Above all, there is a high focus on ease of use.

A team of skilled technical experts
The Mobile programme consists of six scrum teams situated in Denmark and Romania. Each scrum team is composed of about seven developers, and you will be integrated into one of these teams.
As an Architect, you will be part of a team charged with developing new software solutions for our customers. Together with the Program Architect , you will set the direction for designing new features that have useability and quality at their core. And you will align the technical product direction with the business owner team.

You will work with the team to which you have been assigned, and guide them during the development phase to ensure the features fulfil product and system requirements.

Your key task will be ensuring that the work on new product releases fulfils key software quality attributes such as security, scalability, performance and maintainability.

A hands-on full-stack Software Architect
As a minimum you hold a bachelor’s degree in software engineering and have 3+ years of experience as a software lead or similar. You master the classic architectural skills and are proficient in Java, Angular and TypeScript; experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. Our platform runs on Windows, Android and Linux, which you should also be familiar with. Ideally, you hold a software architect certificate, but this not a requirement.
As the programme is split between Denmark and Romania, you can expect some travel for team bonding, and you must be fluent in both oral and written English.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO/EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
