Service Manager for new military medical product portfolio

Are you passionate about creating impactful digital services that save lives? We're seeking a Service Manager to develop innovative service offerings for our Battlefield Health portfolio

Our new product, Battlefield Health, is part of the Healthcare Business Unit. It combines proven healthcare and C4ISR solutions into a unified defence medical information system. Drawing on over 30 years of defence and healthcare expertise, Battlefield Health provides critical decision support for healthcare professionals.

The team
The service team is responsible for creating customer success and service revenue, handling customer contracts, projects, implementations, training, and services. Since Battlefield Health is a new product area, the Service and Delivery organisation is in a ramp-up phase, and you will play a key role in forming the team, which today consists of one implementation consultant. The team collaborates closely with the international sales and product development teams.

The job
As Service Manager in Battlefield Health, you will be responsible for handling ongoing service support for our customers. You will design and commercialise service offerings that create new revenue streams around our product portfolio, working closely with Product, Sales, and Delivery to identify where services create customer value — and building service business models to deliver them profitably.
Examples could include subscription-based content services, implementation consulting, and analytics offerings that solve real operational challenges for military medical customers.
You'll drive business service development in the digital space, shaping how we deliver value beyond our core platform. As the service lead for service innovation and design, you'll develop our measurement consultancy service, which tracks product performance during military medical exercises, creating a foundation for exceptional customer success management. You'll ensure our training services, user adoption programmes, and customer success initiatives are built on solid business models that scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop services for the Battlefield Health product portfolio
  • Drive small customer projects to create customer value and manage ongoing customer success
  • Develop and execute our measurement consultancy service, enabling customers to track Battlefield Health product performance during exercises and training scenarios
  • Drive service innovation grounded in the military medical domain, translating unique operational needs into scalable service offerings
  • Design robust business models for end-user training services across the Battlefield Health portfolio
  • Focus on the discipline of Customer Success Management, ensuring military medical units achieve their mission-critical outcomes

The role includes travel to existing and potential new customers, with an expected 20–30 travel days a year.

Your qualifications
You hold a relevant educational background at bachelor level or above, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in business development within the digital space. You understand how to build services around SaaS solutions.

You're a natural service product manager who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You excel at translating customer needs into innovative service offerings and building business cases that demonstrate clear ROI. Your ability to work cross-functionally — from product teams to customer success — makes you an effective orchestrator of service innovation.

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • strong competencies in service design thinking
  • experience with customer journey mapping and business model innovation
  • a data-driven approach, with the ability to measure service performance and iterate based on insights
  • experience with B2B or B2G SaaS solutions; familiarity with healthcare, defence, or mission-critical systems is a plus

As a person, you are outgoing, trustworthy, and good at building relationships. You thrive in a busy environment working with diverse profiles, ranging from military operational staff to senior military stakeholders, sales directors, and directors. You are persistent and use your drive to make things happen — both independently and in collaboration with others. You have an eye for detail as well as for the overall business outcome, and you are curious about products and their features, always exploring options and possibilities in a commercial context.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here
