Service Designer, Defence Service Development

Design the services that keep Defence Forces mission-ready. As a Service Designer, you will shape and sharpen the service offerings that help Defence organisations turn complex C4I capabilities into sustained operational readiness.

The job
You will build on and further develop our existing service offerings across pre-sales, system design, deployment, training, testing and operations. Through service design, systems thinking and deep user understanding, you will strengthen how we package, deliver and support complex C4I capabilities – enabling customers to maintain and enhance their operational readiness.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Building on existing service definitions and best practices by analysing customer organisations, operational contexts and delivery experiences to identify improvement opportunities
  • Extending and refining the service catalogue by translating input from Sales, service delivery teams and customers into standardized service offerings.
  • Improving service blueprints, delivery models and customer journeys with a focus on operational fit, role clarity and predictable outcomes
  • Facilitating structured workshops with delivery teams and key stakeholders to align and validate service content
  • Strengthening standardised service packages to ensure consistent, repeatable delivery across customers and constellations.

Success in this role means customers move smoothly from initial engagement to effective operational use, are fully prepared to operate our solutions, and sustain their operational capability over time. Your work directly enables Defence organisations to deploy and sustain critical C4I capabilities with confidence.

Joining the team
You'll join our Defence Service Development team in Aarhus, working to continually strengthen the services behind our customers' everyday-ready C4I capabilities. The team brings together service design, military domain knowledge, solution architecture, portfolio management and business analytics. You'll work with strategic projects where an operational mindset is needed, evolving service definitions and delivery models to keep them relevant and effective. You'll report to Marie Lunde Jørgensen, Manager Defence Service Development and collaborate closely with stakeholders across our departments worldwide.

Your qualifications
You hold a relevant master’s degree – ideally in Service System Design, Strategy, Technology-Based Business Development or a similar field – and bring:

  • Preferably experience in service design or service development for complex digital solutions, including creating new services and maturing existing ones to support operational delivery
  • Experience with refining service definitions and delivery models for complex technical and organisational environments, with a focus on clarity, consistency and reduced operational risk
  • Sound knowledge of service design methodologies, such as user journey mapping, service blueprinting and pain-point analysis
  • Strong English communication skills, spoken and written, with an independent and structured approach to complex challenges
  • Willingness to travel 10-20 days a month

It would also be an advantage if you bring:

  • Experience with large-scale enterprise or defence solutions and established delivery organisations
  • Familiarity with agile, system-oriented ways of working, focused on continuous improvement and operational outcomes
  • Experience with customer success disciplines, and an interest in helping shape our approach to customer success within defence

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years, as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
