Senior Software Engineer

What you’ll be doing
We are looking for an experienced software developer to take on a hybrid role, combining the responsibilities of a developer with the ability to facilitate agile development using Kanban. This unique position allows you not only to lead agile processes but also to make a hands-on contribution to product development. If you thrive in an environment where you can balance technical development with Scrum Master responsibilities or a Kanban coaching role, this position offers the opportunity to drive workflows, guide the team, and foster innovation—all while directly shaping the product you and the team are building.

Your key responsibilities:
•    Contribute to the development of new features and enhancements by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
•    Collaborate with team members to identify and solve complex technical challenges.
•    Drive the team's workflow management, leveraging Kanban boards and setting WIP. limits.
•    Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase team productivity.
•    Lead agile processes, including standups and  planning, retrospective, to ensure smooth collaboration and continues improvement. 
 

Your team
The Mobile program at Systematic delivers cutting-edge software solutions for both vehicles and dismounted commanders, with applications in military conflicts and disaster relief operations. The software also offers an API for seamless integration with sensors and drones, and implements resilient network protocols to provide front-line commanders with a shared situational picture. Above all, the focus is on creating intuitive, user-friendly solutions that are easy to navigate in high-pressure environments.

You will join a skilled team of eight Java developers. The team values collaboration and technical expertise, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions that have a real impact. In this role, you will have the chance to grow your skills, and contribute to important projects that matter.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about creating high-quality software and enjoys working in an agile environment. Alongside your technical expertise, we value strong communication and collaboration skills. As an Agile Facilitator, you will help guide the team, resolve challenges, and foster a productive, supportive environment. We need someone who can promote teamwork, encourage continuous improvement, and contribute their technical expertise to the development of our product.

Our ideal candidate would have:
•     A bachelor's degree in Software Development (Master's preferred)
•    5+ years of experience in software development - Java is an advance 
•    Experience with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Scrum, Kanban)
•    Fluency in English, with good communication skills for collaborating in an international team
