The job

Being a Senior Software Engineer in a development team at Systematic means developing and implement high-quality Defence software for tactical communication – something that makes a real difference for our customers.

In other words, your job will be to:

• Naturally identify and solve complex problems with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
• Actively contribute to the team's success, displaying a positive attitude and a strong passion for software development.
• Develop and implement high-quality backend software in Java.
• Demonstrate strong technical insight in day-to-day software development, actively supporting team members by sharing knowledge of best practices and modern Java technologies to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems with a deep understanding of concurrency, partitioning, and replication strategies.

Joining the team

As part of our Mobile program, you will deliver software to vehicles and the dismounted commander. The software can be used in military operations and it provides an API that allows customers to integrate with sensors and drones. It implements resilient network communication infrastructure, so front-line commanders have a shared situational picture. Above all, there is a high focus on ease of use.

The team is a solid specialist team with high Java experience, working on SitaWare Tactical Communication (STC). The team comprises Seven developers and an architect, all working together in Aarhus, collaborating with two testers working in Bucharest, Romania. The team is slowly growing and, therefore, we will work closely together to  handle increasing feature demands.

Your qualifications

We are looking to find a Senior Software Engineer with a Bachelor's or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer science or similar, along with five years of experience as a Software Developer.

The right candidate will also have strong skills in Object oriented Programming. Specifically in backend technologies like Java. Additionally, strong communicative skills in English, both spoken and in writing, to ensure smooth collaboration with international colleagues.            

As the STC team specialises in Defence Tactical Communication, it is advantageous if you have knowledge of or experience with distributed system and Radio Network, Android development, Network Development (TCP/UDP sockets) and SQL-lite.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
