Passionate Senior SRE Software Developer wanted for strong, supportive team
Would you like to shape the future of our infrastructure by designing scalable, elegant solutions that solve classes of problems rather than individual tasks? Join our skilled Site Reliability Engineering team and think beyond the immediate fix and architect systems that transform how we operate at scale
As a Senior SRE with a systems engineering mindset, you will work at the intersection of deep technical expertise and strategic thinking. You will identify patterns across our diverse infrastructure – from Kubernetes clusters to Azure VMs – and create unified solutions that eliminate entire categories of operational toil. This is not about fixing one deployment pipeline; it’s about building a framework that makes all deployments reliable. This is not about patching one vulnerability; it’s about architecting a security posture that scales across our organisation.
You will have access to cutting-edge technologies and the autonomy to innovate, with opportunities to work across multiple environments including our ao-admin Kubernetes cluster, Docker-based deployments, Azure-hosted infrastructure and healthcare-focused systems.
When you are ready, you will join the SRE team’s on-call rotation.
What you will be doing
- Architect automation systems that eliminate classes of manual work, thinking in terms of platforms and capabilities rather than individual scripts.
- Develop infrastructure tooling that empowers development teams to self-service their operational needs while maintaining reliability standards.
- Build observability frameworks that provide unified insights across diverse environments, making patterns visible and actionable.
- Create abstraction layers that hide complexity while providing powerful capabilities, whether through Terraform modules, Helm charts or custom operators.
- Drive infrastructure evolution by identifying systemic improvements and leading their implementation from concept to production.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand their patterns of needs and design operations-ready solutions that scale.
- Mentor team members in systems thinking and architectural approaches, sharing your problem-solving methodology.
- Apply best practices in site reliability engineering, advocating for solutions that improve reliability, security and maintainability at scale.
- Research and prototype emerging technologies and approaches, evaluating their fit for solving our systemic challenges.
- Proven ability to architect solutions that solve multiple problems simultaneously, with examples of platforms or systems you have built.
The team
You will join one of our two skilled SRE teams, each made up of about 10 professionals based at our offices in Aarhus and Bucharest. Our teams operate with a DevOps philosophy and use a mix of scrum and Kanban methodologies depending on the project needs.
We value engineers who can distinguish the wood from the trees – who understand both the technical details and the broader patterns. You will work with colleagues who manage everything from Kubernetes clusters to Windows VMs, from Terraform modules to Prometheus monitoring, and you will help us find the common threads that allow us to operate more efficiently and reliably.
This is a role with significant room for manoeuvre and influence. You will have the opportunity to work with the newest technologies while solving real operational challenges that impact critical systems across multiple domains.
What we are looking for
Our ideal candidate is someone who gets excited about patterns, who sees a specific problem and immediately starts thinking “What other problems does this represent?” You’re the engineer who, when asked to automate a deployment, designs a deployment framework. When asked to fix a monitoring gap, you create an observability strategy.
Our ideal candidate would have:
- experience as a senior in site reliability engineering, systems engineering or platform engineering roles with demonstrated impact on infrastructure scalability
- a solid understanding of abstraction and design patterns in infrastructure, with experience at creating reusable frameworks, modules or platforms
- experience with observability at scale, including metrics, logging and tracing systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or similar)
- strong communication skills to articulate architectural decisions, document systems and mentor others in systems thinking
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
