Senior Project Manager – Library

Do you want to lead complex project implementations that change how libraries serve their communities? As a Senior Project Manager at Systematic, you'll take full ownership of high-impact Cicero rollouts — guiding customers across Northern Europe from project kick-off to go-live, with real decision-making authority and a growing portfolio of markets to work across.

The job
You'll manage the full delivery lifecycle of library management system implementations for customers in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Germany. Working closely with a cross-functional project team — including solution architects, test managers, and implementation consultants based in both Aarhus and Bucharest — you're responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to the standard our customers rely on.

In addition to that, some of your key tasks will be to:
•    Plan, coordinate, and follow up on day-to-day project activities, managing risk and reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders
•    Schedule and track feature deliveries with our product development teams when projects call for extensions of our solution.
•    Own the financial tracking and forecasting for your projects, keeping budgets on track and prioritising activities accordingly
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, aligning expectations and guiding them confidently through the transition to our products
•    Handle contract management and change requests, maintaining clear scope control throughout delivery
•    Contribute to proposal and tender writing, supporting the continued growth of Systematic's library portfolio in Northern Europe.

Joining the team
You'll join the Library Projects & Services team at a genuinely exciting time. Our library management system, Cicero, already powers every public and school library across Denmark's 98 municipalities — and demand is growing fast, with active deployments now running in Oslo, Hamburg, Stockholm, and soon Helsinki.

The team brings together project managers, solution architects, test managers, and implementation consultants across Aarhus and Bucharest, collaborating closely on implementation projects while staying in sync with our product development teams. Our customers are happy, our product is stable, and the pipeline is expanding — so the work is substantive, the stakes are real, and the impact on communities is tangible.
As a senior member of the team, you'll operate within a structured governance framework that gives you genuine authority and accountability at the operational level. Typically, you'll lead one large implementation or two smaller concurrent projects.

•    At least five years of experience managing IT or software implementation projects for external customers
•    Solid experience working with project KPIs, structured planning methodologies, and realistic capacity modelling
•    Proficiency with Excel and SharePoint for project tracking and reporting
•    Fluent in English, both written and spoken — proficiency in Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, or German is an advantage given the markets we serve
•    Willingness to travel approximately 6–15 days per year, primarily within Northern Europe.

You're self-driven and proactive, with a structured approach to your work and a genuine motivation for engaging with customers and cross-functional teams. You can hold the bigger picture in view while staying on top of the detail.
