The job

  • Leveraging Cluster API to deliver a seamless developer experience, streamlining cluster lifecycle operations and empowering teams to self-serve infrastructure in an on-premise environment.
  • Designing and implementing supporting infrastructure for Kubernetes, including networking solutions, certificate management, DNS configuration, and storage systems, to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance environments for development teams.
  • Implementing security policies, best practices, and compliance controls.

Collaboration and Support

  • Working closely with in-house development teams to integrate the Kubernetes service into the application development process.
  • Collaborate within a Scrum-based development team
  • Delivering third-level support for Kubernetes services, acting as a technical escalation point for the operations team and resolving advanced issues beyond first and second-level troubleshooting.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of Kubernetes solutions.

Automation and Scripting

  • Developing automation scripts and tools to streamline operations and deployments.
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines supporting product development.
  • Automating routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Documentation and Training

  • Providing training and guidance to team members on best practices and new technologies.
  • Staying up to date with the latest cloud-native developments, capabilities, and industry trends.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in relevant conferences.

Joining the team
You’ll join the Developer Experience and Platforms team, In the Engineering department of Group IT and will be working closely with the Service Team which operates our platforms. The Engineering department is organised into three teams: Developer Experience and Platforms, Business Systems and Solutions, and Core Infrastructure. Within Developer Experience and Platforms, you’ll be part of the Kubernetes group (three people) and collaborate with colleagues specialising in Microsoft platforms, networking, and automation. We value team spirit, mutual support, and celebrating success together. Expect modern technologies, exciting projects, and a creative, collaborative environment.
