Senior Developer – Implement high-quality defence software

SitaWare Insight is a decision-support tool that transforms data collection and management, providing commanders at various levels with advanced data capture and analysis capabilities. The mission for the program is to simplify critical decision-making. Modern technologies like AI are used to transform data into information, providing commanders with advanced data capture and analysis capabilities . SitaWare Insight currently has almost 50 Systems Engineers, Architects and Testers making up five Scrum teams, and we are expanding due to growing customer demand. It is our responsibility to develop, improve and maintain this product to ensure that it remains the best of its kind on the market. 

 

Join a growing team
The team is part of our Defence business unit, and comprises a Project and People Manager, an Architect, 5-9 Developers and 1-2 Testers. The team is divided between Denmark and Romania. In both countries, we aim to have a good and strong employee culture where we can support and challenge each other. We regularly travel to each other’s locations to collaborate closely on projects, and you should therefore expect some travel. Happy and committed employees is our aim!

What to expect
As a Senior Developer, you will play a crucial role in our team, taking ownership, providing leadership and facilitating agile development to drive innovation and new functionality. Joining our team will give you a unique opportunity to work with modern technologies and contribute directly to the advancement of our product, SitaWare Insight. This is your chance to make a meaningful difference, leveraging your skills and expertise to shape the future of AI-driven solutions.

 

In addition, your key tasks will include:

  • implementing high-quality software that makes a real difference for our customers
  • leading the agile software development and continuously improving how we work
  • writing the initial feature description and feature requirement specifications
  • developing and documenting code according to agile principles using Angular, Java and other relevant technologies
  • running the full test cycle together with our dedicated Testers to ensure high product quality.

 

Work with a range of technologies
SitaWare Insight is a modern microservice-based solution made up of primarily Angular and Java Spring Boot services. A variety of cloud-native components are used for supporting the environment, as it must be deployable to on-prem, private and public clouds. SitaWare Insight makes use of several technologies and frameworks, the most prominent being:
 

  • Angular 14 (TypeScript, SCSS)
  • Java 17 microservices using Spring Boot
  • Docker on Kubernetes with Istio and Helm
  • Kafka, PostgreSQL, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Gradle and Bazel
  • Linux and Bash scripting
  • TeamCity, Bitbucket and JIRA

 

An experienced developer who wants to make a real difference

  • You must hold min. a BSc and an MSc degree, and have 6-8 years of software engineering experience.
  • You must have backend development experience in Java or similar and frontend development experience in Angular or similar.
  • You have worked with Docker and Kubernetes and microservices and message queues.
  • You are fluent in English.
