MLOps Engineer – Build the Platform That Powers AI in Healthcare

Are you a developer who loves building the systems that make AI work in the real world? At Systematic Healthcare, we're looking for an MLOps Engineer to join our Innovation team in Aarhus — and help us bring AI capabilities to healthcare professionals both in Denmark and abroad

Our Healthcare Innovation team develops AI solutions that simplify critical decision-making for clinicians. From speech recognition and natural language processing and anomaly detection, we build solutions that make a real difference. As our MLOps Engineer, you'll be the person who makes sure these models don't just work in the lab — they run reliably, scalably, and securely in production.
You'll become part of a tight-knit team of data scientists, architects, and developers who work with genuine curiosity and mutual trust. We move fast, challenge each other, and care deeply about the quality of what we build. Expect informal communication, real responsibility from day one — and yes, table tennis breaks, coffee, and the occasional padel match.
You'll serve all AI projects across Systematic, working closely with data scientists, architects, product managers, and domain experts to design and operate the ML platform that underpins everything we build.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, deploying, and operating ML models and AI services in production
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, container infrastructure, and cloud/on-premise GPU setups
  • Managing and evolving our ML platform — model serving, registries, monitoring, and observability
  • Collaborating with data scientists to streamline the path from experimentation to deployment
  • Owning database management (PostgreSQL) and caching systems (Redis)
  • Setting up and maintaining monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalents)
  • Contributing to infrastructure-as-code and keeping our environments consistent and reproducible
  • Participating in technical sparring sessions and code reviews across the team

Your profile
You are a well-rounded Software Developer with a theoretical foundation from a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or similar, and some years of experience working with software engineering. You're equally at home in technical discussions with data scientists as you are building and automating infrastructure. Last but not least, you think end-to-end, from model training and data pipelines to serving infrastructure and monitoring, and you understand how all the pieces fit together as a cohesive system.

Must-have skills:

  • Solid software development experience — you write clean, production-quality backend code in Python (and ideally Java)
  • DevOps fundamentals: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating ML models or AI services in production
  • Experience with cloud providers and on-premise GPU infrastructure
  • Database management (PostgreSQL) and caching systems (Redis)
  • Monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalents)
  • Experience with model serving (vLLM or similar) and AI Gateway solutions (LiteLLM or similar)

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with model registries and experiment tracking tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases)
  • Experience deploying speech recognition models
  • Understanding of healthcare data compliance (GDPR, patient data handling)
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service ML tooling
  • Frontend skills for building internal dashboards or admin tools

You communicate clearly and can translate infrastructure decisions into language that resonates with both engineers and stakeholders. You thrive in a small, cross-functional team where roles are fluid and pragmatism is valued.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
