Senior Business Intelligence Manager, Reporting & Insights
About the position
This position is based at our head office in Aarhus. You will join a growing team of 12+ skilled colleagues in our Reporting & Insights department. As our new Senior BI Manager, you will be responsible for five employees, and your focus will be on maintaining high levels of motivation and job satisfaction while ensuring that our operating model, including processes, is followed and developed to ensure high quality, high delivery performance as well as high utilisation of the delivered solutions.
You will have overall responsibility for internal BI in the Systematic group, and you will be closely involved with the most important solutions and technological possibilities within reporting, analysis, and artificial intelligence (AI/ML).
One of the most important success criteria for the Reporting & Insights team as a whole is enabling Systematic to make the right business decisions. This applies to the individual project and department manager, and to group management and the Board of Directors. Therefore, it is important that you have a holistic understanding of the link between BI and business, and of what is required to succeed at applying the solutions that have been developed.
Responsibilities and tasks
You will work in close collaboration with the team, where you will help to lift the existing process maturity by leading the way with participatory behaviour. You take pride in following the extent to which the developed solutions are used in the business, as well as how they are used. This enables you to learn more about how the architecture, the BI processes, and the solutions should be designed to be as effective as possible.
You will also be in contact with and responsible for our external partners and BI suppliers; this includes negotiating contracts, order agreements and licensing prices for the technologies used. In this connection, it is important that you have a sound understanding of what drives costs when using cloud-based services, and how these costs can be kept within budget and optimised. You will have budgetary responsibility for this area.
Last but not least, it is vital that you take pride in managing and developing your employees, and that you understand which management style to apply in a given situation. You will be required to instruct, coach, participate and delegate to varying degrees in the course of the working day. You will also hold 1:1 interviews at regular intervals with the team members to maintain progress and motivation.
Our Finance department, which includes Reporting & Insights, is on a journey to improve internal processes, systems, and the mark we make on the entire organisation. You can therefore look forward to becoming part of this journey, in which your own role and Systematic will evolve over time.
During this journey, you can expect to work with a wide range of tasks, such as:
- leading the team of BI developers (front and back-end), including setting objectives, drawing up strategies and ensuring that the team achieves its goals;
- developing and maintaining a solid partnership with the management group in order to understand their needs and ensure that the team delivers valuable data and analyses that support decision-making;
- ensuring (together with the BI architect) that the BI architecture supports the company’s data needs and that data is consistent, reliable and easily accessible for decision-makers;
- monitoring the BI processes, including data gathering, data quality, data modelling, reporting and dashboards;
- managing and supporting the team in developing and implementing advanced analysis methods, including statistical models, machine learning and data mining;
- ensuring that the team is updated on the latest technology and methods within BI, and that the team applies this know-how in their work;
- having overall responsibility for administering and maintaining BI tools and technologies;
- managing projects and budgets in connection with BI initiatives, which includes ensuring that the projects run according to schedule and are within budget, and that they deliver value to the company.
It is important that you are a strong communicator who is ready to stand up and explain and guide the organisation through the necessary changes and/or new possibilities for using BI and analytics.
