Operational Tester for mission-critical defence products
“Test as they fight” and become part of a strong and unique network of brilliant testers!
Aarhus, Denmark.
About the position
We are growing and therefore looking for new colleagues.
As a Test Engineer with Defence-domain experience, you will work within a product team and ensure that we release high-quality products fit for use in critical situations. You will be the final point of test before our software is released, but you will not be alone. You will become part of our SitaWare Headquarters Program, consisting of 60+ skilled colleagues, working in close collaboration to create world-class software for our customers. As a tester in Systematic Defence, you are part of a highly competent team of engineers and specialists. You will be expected to contribute with your military perspective and experience.
Responsibilities and tasks
You will be responsible for testing battle-management software that is used worldwide in the most critical environments. Using your experience from the military domain, you will challenge the software and our testing procedures to embody our motto, “Test as they fight”. You will be part of the feature process from the very beginning ensuring high quality in our products. You will install the software, configure different setups - depending on requirements for the tests - and conduct the tests. In an exciting and varied working day, your daily tasks will involve:
- Working with all aspects of quality assurance of our battle-management software
- Use your domain knowledge to advise on test and functionality
- Assist with the configuration and operations of our test-environment
- Execute manual tests of our products that are installed on multiple servers
Are you the newest member of our team? Then you:
- Have a military background from the Army, Navy or Air Force where you have worked with command-and-control or Battle Space Management at the manual level.
- Have worked as an IT/BMS (Battle Management System) specialist or experienced end user
- Might have a background as an Army radio/CIS operator, Navy CIC operator/supervisor, Air Force Operations specialist, or similar. Most importantly, you understand the domain, terminology and purpose of C2 systems so you can test our products and ensure continued quality.
- Might also have a formal IT education; if not, you certainly have good IT skills and like to learn new ones.
- Have experience with military communication hardware and cloud computing and a thorough understanding of automation and IT in general, which is very beneficial for this position; however, it is not a requirement.
- Have a natural curiosity and a passion for the defence domain, which will inspire you to improve the quality of the products in your daily working life.
- Are fluent in English and thrive in an international working environment.
What we offer
- An open-minded working environment where we focus on our employees and their well-being.
- In the long term, you will also have an opportunity to take your career to the next level as we offer excellent development opportunities depending on your own wishes.
- Work location at our head office in Aarhus, Denmark, with limited travel – approx. 10 days a year to visit other Systematic offices.
