Master Data Manager

Aarhus, Denmark.

Are you passionate about increasing the use of data-driven processes and decisions to support businesses? And are you attracted by the possibility of making your mark on developing data management in an international company? If so, we have the perfect job for you!

About the position

The position is based at our head office in Aarhus, and is part of Systematic’s Shared Functions business area. As a Master Data Manager, you will be part of our Reporting & Insights team, which comprises six skilled employees who have several years of experience with business intelligence (BI), data management and RPA from various industries.

At Systematic, we have just gone live with a new ERP system (D365) as well as the first version of essential BI for hourly and financial reporting in Microsoft Power BI. We want to use data-driven decisions to drive our top and bottom lines towards achieving our business objectives. In addition, we are working with the latest Microsoft Azure and Power BI technologies, and we focus strongly on competence development in parallel with development work as our ambition is to consolidate with machine learning, AI and other exciting initiatives. One of the prerequisites is that we have efficient data processes and data flows, which largely stems from having solid master data.

Responsibilities and tasks

As Master Data Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Systematic’s ambition of becoming a data-driven organisation. You will function as an ambassador for the spread, use and value of efficient data processes. In addition to designing and implementing master data processes and policies across the organisation, you will participate as a data expert on various internal projects. Systematic has an ambitious growth strategy, so your role as Master Data Manager will, for example, be significant for the start-up and use of new IT systems. Given our increased focus on master data governance, as Master Data Manager you will be able to exert considerable influence with the possibility of making your mark on the development of the entire data management area in future.

Your working day will be varied and involve:

  • Establishing the future master data governance set-up at Systematic
  • Supporting the different business units in implementing data for new business functionalities
  • Leading the way in working with data extracts, analysis, cleaning and migration
  • Facilitating the set-up and maintenance of master data in different ERP and CRM systems
  • Offering data support to business and IT initiatives in order to optimise data use in business processes
  • Proactively identifying areas where improvement initiatives are required.

Preferred skills

  • You have 5+ years of experience at working with master data management, for example as a master data specialist or master data consultant/project manager.
  • You take pride in building fully functional data processes, and you can explain the importance and value of data management to your colleagues across various functions.
  • Assuming responsibility for making progress comes naturally to you, and you thrive on being able to think strategically and ‘get your hands dirty’.
  • You are motivated by designing and structuring processes and policies from scratch.
  • Your work is based on a solid framework within master data.
  • You have a sound understanding of a company’s application landscape and data flow with regard to core systems such as ERP, CRM and any financial consolidation.
  • You have experience with data warehousing/BI – preferably BI.
  • Moreover, it is a big advantage if you have knowledge of the software industry.

Minimum qualifications

  • You have completed a relevant education within information studies, data management, business intelligence or BI.
  • You have experience from working at another company in building master data management processes and policies.
  • You speak and write fluent English and thrive in an international environment.
  • We work with security classified projects and, as a Systematic employee, you require security clearance. For more information about security clearance, please visit: https://systematic.com/en-gb/careers/security-clearance/

Practical information
