MS Azure Architect for BI & Data Science department

Aarhus, Denmark.

About the position

Do you have a thorough understanding of business intelligence and Microsoft’s Azure PaaS, and would you like to help shape a growing core area at Systematic? At the same time, are you ready to assume responsibility in a dynamic, data-focused company? Then you are our new BI Architect/Senior BI Consultant.

Systematic is seeing strong growth in its data-related business and delivering data-based solutions is a vital part of our software products. We primarily work with large BI and data platform solutions, IoT solutions and AI projects within our core areas: healthcare, libraries and learning, water and energy, and defence. Our vision is, by using data, to contribute to improving health, care, learning, the environment, and safety, and thus provide cutting-edge software for customers and society at large.

You will have considerable freedom of action and work closely with our core business in heading the BI and data platform solutions. We have several different profiles in the department with whom you can always discuss things. In addition, there is a large body of knowledge within the office, and you will also be part of an architects’ network made up of other business and solution architects. Our department has been strongly growing the past couple of years, and you will be in the company of some energetic and skilled profiles. We have an inspiring culture, where you get the opportunity to show and develop your skills, teach others and bring out the best in your colleagues.

Consequently, you will have the opportunity to make your mark on the team and how it operates. You can look forward to an exciting working day and using the latest technologies to make a difference together with world-class colleagues. We are open to experimenting with new ideas – and if you fancy a game of table football, you will always find someone to play against.

Responsibilities and tasks

As a BI Architect/Senior BI Consultant, you will be involved in helping to decide the direction for our BI and data platform solutions. The considerable demand we see for business intelligence and data-driven solutions from our customers will give you a broad network of contacts, both in terms of products and projects, as well as different groups of experts, customers, and business partners. We design our products as well as tailored solutions to our customers’ systems. You will also have a role as the technical lead on several of these scrum-based development projects. You will be involved in the early dialogue with customers to understand their needs and decide the framework for our solution design. In addition, the job involves a high degree of hands-on tasks with designing, building, and implementing BI solutions, where the tasks range from basic BI solutions to complex data platform solutions tailored to customer needs and requirements in different domains.

Your daily tasks will involve:

  • To understand our customers’ needs, systems, and success criteria to scope, design and develop the right BI or data platform solution
  • Helping with training and guiding younger colleagues in the department
  • Being our Microsoft BI Stack and Azure PaaS expert
  • Acting as a sounding board for colleagues across the entire business

Our ideal candidate

  • Have plenty of drive and a desire to work with some of the most ambitious BI and data platform projects in Denmark; this includes participating in complex code work
  • Can work with our product departments, data scientists and customers on developing AI solutions
  • Have good communication skills and enjoy acting as a sounding board for the business
  • Enjoy advising customers and studying their needs and expectations
  • Would like to take part in training colleagues

Required expertise

  • We envisage that you have several years of experience working with business intelligence, data platforms or other data-related projects – ideally as a Senior BI Consultant or BI Architect in a large company or consulting firm.
  • You must have extensive practical experience with Microsoft’s BI Stack (SSIS, SQL, SSAS and PowerBI) and Azure PaaS. Thus, you have been designing and developing large and complex data platform solutions with many customers based on Microsoft Azure.
  • In addition, you have been responsible for scoping, designing, and developing major BI solutions.
  • You might also have worked with the development of machine learning-based software products.
  • As a person, you have a natural flair for engaging in dialogue with different stakeholders and establishing new relationships.
  • You have strong business acumen and can familiarize yourself with new domains and technologies. And with your good leadership skills, you know how to motivate and run a team – and you enjoy imparting what you know.
  • You are fluent in English and Danish and thrive in an international working environment.
  • We work with security classified projects and, as a Systematic employee, you require a security clearance. For more information about security clearance, please visit: https://systematic.com/en-gb/careers/security-clearance/
