In your forthcoming team, helping each other is a core value, and you will therefore always have a second set of eyes to verify your code. Typically, a team comprises 6-8 Developers with affiliated Architects, User Experience Designers, Software Test Engineers and Test Managers.
Task and responsibilities
As a Junior Software Developer at Systematic, you can expect to learn a lot while applying what you have learnt so far in your study programme. Your daily tasks will involve:
• being co-responsible for certain parts of the software development as well as customer support
• working with prototypes and innovation, including the development of new functionalities
• participating in Scrum team meetings as well as using Scrum as a tool in your daily work.
With time, there will also be scope for taking on more complex tasks as your skills and capabilities improve and grow.
You are the right fit
… if you are passionate about using and developing your technological skills, and are currently studying for an MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar; ideally you have one year left of your studies. At the same time, we envisage that:
• you are good at cooperating and have a good technical understanding
• you are ambitious, and are willing and able to always improve to become a strong team player
• you are driven by the quality of your work, and you make a point of understanding complex solutions and the challenges the customer faces
• you speak English fluently, and are comfortable working in an international environment.
You should also be interested in working with a wide range of technological solutions and methods – it would be an advantage if you are well-versed in some of the following technologies:
• The development of web-based and scalable solutions in primarily Java and C#, as well as a wide range of web technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Angular and Scala)
• SQL (MSSQL, MySQL)
• PowerShell
• Linux
• Visual Studio
• .NET
• API
• JSON
• Docker
Practical information
• The position will involve 10-15 hours of work a week, and we are, of course, flexible in relation to your studies. However, when we are busy, we may need you to work longer hours.
