Internship: Software Tester

About the position

 

At Systematic you will have an internship in a professional and inspiring environment offering exciting challenges within software testing with a wide-ranging set of tasks. This internship provides a unique opportunity to put your theoretical skills into practice and create real value for our customers. As an intern, you will be part of one of our development teams and work on tasks and assignments equal to your colleagues. Your daily work will take place in a scrum team where you will work in close collaboration with Testers, Architects, Developers and Project Managers. The daily life at Systematic is fast-paced but we make sure we have fun, and you’re learning, and job satisfaction is important to us. You will be assigned a mentor from day one and at the start of your internship, you will participate in courses that will thoroughly prepare you for working at Systematic.

 

A large interface and freedom with responsibility

 

As a Tester for Systematic, it is important that you can work meticulous and combine this with drive and technical insight. Test is an integral part of our development process and we are leaders in software tests. As an intern, you will build on your expertise as a Tester and take part in technically challenging and exciting tasks. You will acquire considerable know-how about quality assurance, giving you a good overall picture of the entire development phase.

As an intern at Systematic, you will be treated as an equal to your colleagues. You will be part of a team from day one and be involved in team tasks. You will be able to structure your personal tasks to a considerable extent and, following a thorough introduction to the project and domain you will be able to handle tasks independently in the team. We strive towards a good balance between your personal wishes, your formal study requirements and our expectations and priorities. The internship offers practical experience with some of the following technologies and methods:

  • JIRA and other Atlassian products
  • GIT
  • Scrum
  • ISTQB
  • Test Design techniques
  • TeamCity
  • HTML CSS
  • SQL

 

You will work with these technologies in connection with the following tasks:

  • Designing and implementing test cases for manual as well as automated tests
  • Participating in debugging and clarifying root causes
  • Identifying and reporting defects
  • Documenting test execution
  • Test environments and set-ups
  • Test automation

 

Preferred competencies

 

  • We imagine that you are studying software development, software technology, health technology, data science or similar at BSc or MSc level.
  • You have a flair for and take an interest in analytical tasks.
  • You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • As a person you are responsible, curious, and highly motivated. In addition, you have the competencies which are required to develop innovative software solutions.
  • You are outgoing by nature and take a positive approach to your work and you are willing to shoulder new tasks and tackle new challenges. You are also proactive and very committed.

Practical information

 

  • This is a paid internship if your studies allow it.
  • The workplace is at our main office in Aarhus.
  • The internship lasts 5 months, starting in February 2022.
  • The internship will be a full-time position but naturally, we are flexible in relation to your studies, in regard to counselling, your internship report and ECTS points requirements.
