Internship - UX Designer for Defence

Are you eager to design user experiences that make a real impact and are you looking for an internship next spring semester? Join our Defence Aspire team and help shape digital learning tools for those who rely on them the most.

Expected start: February 2027

The internship
As our new Junior UX Designer, you will be part of a collaborative team of UX designers and training developers working on Aspire — our digital training platform that supports product training across our Defence solutions. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge about usability, technology and human-centered design in a meaningful context.

You can expect to:

  • create low- and high-fidelity prototypes
  • mature UX prototypes and ensure smooth handover to the development team
  • validate user experiences during implementation, with a focus on quality and user-friendliness
  • identify and raise UX issues in existing functionality
  • explore and develop UX concepts for new training and business initiatives
  • contribute to clear, user-focused documentation—internally and externally (e.g., design system documentation and user manuals)
  • support the development of digital learning materials
  • assist the team with various ad hoc tasks

Meet the Defence Aspire Team
You will become a part of the Aspire team, our digital platform that supports training across our Defence product suite. The team is made up of software developers, UX designers, training developers, and domain experts who work closely together to deliver meaningful and user-friendly solutions.

We thrive on complex challenges and operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Our strong team spirit and open, knowledge-sharing culture create a space where you’ll be supported and inspired — both professionally and personally.

Your qualifications?
We imagine that you are currently pursuing a BA or MSc Digital Design, Information Science, or a related field, and have a strong interest in user research, digital experiences, and solving real-problems for users.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience with prototyping tools such as Figma, Axure, or Adobe XD
  • is curious, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions or dive into complexity
  • can turn complex user challenges into simple solutions
  • communicates clearly — both visually and verbally—and can explain design decisions with confidence
  • speaks and writes Danish and English fluently
  • has experience or is eager to work with tools like Adobe Premiere Pro.

The internship is a full-time position lasting five months, starting on 1 February 2027. The position is unpaid; however, if permitted by your academic programme, you will receive a monthly token of appreciation during your internship.

To be eligible, you must be enrolled in a Danish study program and be based in Denmark during the internship period.

Life as an Intern
Interns are valued members of our teams. From day one, you will be assigned a dedicated tutor or mentor who will guide your development and provide ongoing support. You will work alongside experienced colleagues eager to share their knowledge, while being entrusted with real responsibility early in your journey.

We believe in delivering high-quality solutions while maintaining a positive work environment – whether through shared laughter over coffee, engaging discussions, or meaningful connections with colleagues. Beyond your immediate team, you will join our intern network, where you can build relationships and participate in social events with other interns across the organization.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
