IT Project Manager for new strategic product launch

You lead the most strategic projects and build products alongside 
As a project manager you will become a vital player in leading the early development of a brand-new strategic product launch based on the latest Cloud technologies. The product is a data-centric concept and will be part of the Systematic SitaWare Suite, which is a breakthrough in battle control software that offers clarity, simplicity and high performance that addresses real world command and control challenges at the frontline.

 

The program currently consists of app. 30 employees divided into scrum teams that are assisted by architects, test managers and UX designers. The teams are mainly based on highly skilled internal Systematic experts, who has been picked for this challenge, but we are also looking to hire external experts to join the program. The aim is to grow the program to app. 40 employees.

 

You will be running 2 scrum teams each consisting of a skilled scrum master together with developers and testers – a total of 6-9 members in each team. The team-members are situated in Denmark and Poland. Alongside with your project management responsibility you will also have the full people management responsibility for the teams, excluding the team-members situated in Poland.

 

Your main responsibility will be to set direction and motivate your scrum teams to ensure successful launch and implementation of this new product. As we are early in the process you will have a great opportunity to influence the choices and the final product.

 

Your main tasks include:

  • Plan, track, deliver and report on progress in the projects
  • Participate in recruiting for the scrum teams
  • Act as a close sparring partner to the program manager
  • Build and continuously improve high performance scrum teams
  • Set the direction for the teams and ensure a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Grow talents and skilled team members through employee development and people management.
  • Drive the implemented strategic initiatives and continuously improve development speed and product quality

 

Some travel activity is to be expected as you will be visiting our development teams in Poland and occasionally be part of customer visits around the world.

Experienced and skilled IT project manager 

Most important to this position is your 3+ years of experience with driving complex IT projects based on agile methods. We anticipate you to have been running project teams of at least 5 team members. Besides we expect you to have:

  • Relevant bachelor and/or master’s degree
  • Qualifications comparable to PMI/PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA Level C/D
  • People Management experience and have the ability to coach and motivate your teams
  • Full project management discipline (planning, risk management, stakeholder management, reporting, KPIs etc.)
  • Some interest in technologies like Containers (Docker), Microservices, Angular 10+ and Kubernetes
  • English fluently both verbally and in writing
