Experienced IT  solution architect for a complex and evolving enterprise setup

Are you an experienced and business-oriented IT solution architect, keen on making a difference? Systematic is looking to bolster our architectural competencies — maybe you are our next team member?

Group IT (GRIT) is undergoing an organisational change towards a more focused and specialised organisation when it comes to the development of IT solutions. While the GRIT Strategy department has overall responsibility for establishing the plans and strategic direction for Group IT, the GRIT Services department has been established to operate and maintain IT solutions once they have been engineered and designed. This is where our team is putting the focus: designing and implementing solutions that will be handed over for operations and support in a structured way.
The team is located in Aarhus, Denmark, and Bucharest, Romania, has 12 members, and consists of subject matter experts and architects in the following areas: ERP (D365), integrations, and a wider range of business applications; HR solutions (SuccessFactors); SharePoint and collaboration solutions; ITSM (Cherwell and Ivanti); and automation and AI (Power Platform, Copilot, Claude).

The role

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect who can bring both technical depth and technical vision to the team. This role is crucial in helping us bridge the gap between technology capabilities and business value — looking ahead, spotting emerging technology opportunities, and ensuring the benefits of existing platforms are maximised.

With the newly established focus on the building part of the solution development process, this role will contribute to developing the target architecture and the frameworks required to deliver IT solutions that provide business value efficiently and effectively.

  • Solution architecture and technical leadership: Lead solution architecture for our projects, designing solutions that improve how our business processes are operated; drive our automation strategy, identifying opportunities to eliminate manual work and improve efficiency; shape our AI implementation approach, ensuring we extract maximum value from these technologies while managing risks and governance.
  • Strategic technology vision: Together with the Enterprise Architecture team, look beyond current requirements to identify technology trends and capabilities that could deliver business value; help establish a coherent technology roadmap that aligns with business needs; evaluate IT solutions prior to implementation for strategic fit.
  • Stakeholder engagement and requirements: Work with stakeholders across the company to understand their challenges and translate them into architectural solutions; communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences; establish requirement-capturing methods that can be used across the team.

Your profile
We expect you to hold a relevant degree in IT at bachelor's level or higher.

You have several years of experience as an IT Solution Architect or in a similar role, with experience in the following areas:

  • Technical expertise: Enterprise platforms architecture; automation and AI; enterprise integration patterns; cloud environments.
  • Architecture and design: Designing solutions end-to-end and across platforms; experience with architecture frameworks; balancing technical excellence with pragmatic, business-focused decision-making.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: Strategic thinking to see beyond immediate requirements and anticipate future needs; stakeholder management at various levels; communicating and explaining technical matters in plain language.

You have gained your experience working with enterprise systems in mid- to large-sized companies. You have in-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture disciplines and how they interface with solution architecture, and you understand compliance and regulatory requirements in sensitive industries.

Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here
