AI Platform Senior Software Developer

AI is rapidly changing how complex raw data is turned into information, and information is what fuels the military intelligence process. For us, utilising advanced algorithms on text, images, sound, video and real time geopositional data is what gives our customers an edge on the battlefield. It allows us to develop, serve, monitor and train models in the lab, in the cloud or in our customers’ environments. The foundation is the best-of-breed components, from Kubernetes to the latest GPUs, and you will be working on maturing and extending the platform ’s capabilities. 

The team
In this position you will become part of a Scrum team consisting of 14 highly skilled and competent colleagues located in Denmark. From day one, you will be met by a collaborative and dynamic environment, where you will have the opportunity to develop your personal competencies.
In collaboration with the team, you will be working on SitaWare Insights, a decision support tool that converts data collection and management using AI into invaluable military intelligence. This involves transforming data into information, providing commanders with advanced data capture and analysis capabilities and leveraging technologies such as machine learning. 

What we do
Our mission for the team is to advance towards an operational AI platform. Currently, we service AI models such as LLM for text and sound, the latest deep learning models for images and videos and custom models for time series. However, we aspire to elevate these models to the next level of maturity through improved generalisation, scalability and efficiency on our platform.

The AI infrastructure we are developing will empower both our service team and customers to monitor operational performance, fine-tune AI models and re-train models for sustained on-site performance. Leveraging extensive computer resources, including GPUs and storage, will be critical to ensuring the platform’s success. Our highly experienced team covers the essential competency areas needed to shape the future of AI solutions, but we need you to help the team make AI into usable products.

Your responsibilities 
As a Senior Software Developer for AI Platform, you will be part of developing new software solutions that make a difference for our users in critical situations. In short, you can look forward to: 

• developing infrastructure software to integrate the machine learning models in SitaWare Insight
• building infrastructure setup, deployment pipelines and automated test framework 
• designing for scalability
• implementing performance monitoring and security measures
• helping implement model performance history and dataset pipelines.

Are you the person we’re looking for? 

We are looking for a new colleague who is a committed team player and willing to explore and adopt skills within new areas. Nevertheless, we also envisage that you: 

• have experience at using Docker, Kubernetes, Java, CI/CD pipelines or similar
• have a background in microservice architecture and running on virtualised infrastructure
• have 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• hold a relevant degree, e.g. Computer Science – preferably at MSc level
• are fluent in English, as it is our corporate language and used daily in conversations with colleagues worldwide
• are happy to travel to some extent, visiting team members in other countries.
